Five Camps, One Colorful Summer

Summer break came loaded with energy at Chungshan this year, as the school ran a lineup of engaging camps for students. Alongside the ever-popular Bilingual Art Master Camp and English Summer Camp, kids could also sign up for a Swimming Camp, a Badminton Camp, and a Multi-Intelligence Service Camp — five very different ways to spend a summer well.

Swimming and badminton camps gave students a wonderful head start in two lifelong sports. Splashing through drills in the pool or chasing shuttles across the court, campers built up stamina and — just as importantly — the kind of focus that comes from real practice. For kids who can't get enough, the fun doesn't have to stop when camp ends: they can carry that energy straight into the school's swim club or badminton team once the new semester begins.

The Multi-Intelligence Service Camp brought a different kind of energy to campus, led by a team of lively college-student volunteers. Beyond homework help, these "big brothers and sisters" shared a whole toolkit of special skills with the children — a taste of financial literacy, an exploration of their hometown's geography, hands-on science that's just plain fun, and a first taste of Japanese and English.
