Today was a day full of honor and warmth. Principal Yang Shih-kai set aside time from his own schedule to personally lead one of Chungshan's reading champions, student Hu, to the Changhua County Government for a very special lunch — the "County Magistrate's Guests" recognition banquet.
"Reading is a window to the world."
Hu earned this seat at the table by breaking through the demanding 5,000-point TOP tier in the "Reading Steps Changhua · Flying Read Cloud" certification system — a goal that called for real persistence, page after page, day after day.
Meeting County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei face to face, Hu had the chance to share the simple joy of a good book. On the spot, Principal Yang encouraged her with words the whole school can carry forward: "Reading is a window to the world, and I am honored to personally witness the moment a child opens that window."
Watching Hu step forward to receive her honor at the County Hall wasn't just a personal achievement — it's the clearest proof of what Chungshan's staff and teachers have been quietly building: a school where the love of reading is planted early and given room to grow.
