Huatan’s 2026 summer “Future Elites” program kicked off with its first flagship camp — the World Citizen Navigator Camp — where English became a bridge to the world.
Cultural Exchange: three days, one global classroom.
Led by foreign teacher Laurence, the three-day immersive English program built around the theme Cultural Exchange gave students real situations to speak up in and grow their cross-cultural communication skills.
Day one started close to home: students learned the English names for drinks and toppings, then practiced ordering at a pretend drink shop, describing their favorite bubble-tea combination out loud in English.
Day two crossed an ocean — a live video exchange with tenth-graders at Mukdahan High School in Thailand, led by Miss Sara. Huatan students introduced Taiwan’s signature bubble tea and shared their own drink creations, while Thai students introduced Miang, Chinatown, and Thai milk tea. Afterward, everyone made their own jasmine green tea, jasmine apple tea, and jasmine orange juice together, learning in the scent of tea leaves.
On day three, students watched and discussed the film Swapped, exploring understanding, respect, and empathy across cultures — the qualities of a true global citizen.
From one cup of bubble tea to one international video call, Huatan students are learning English by using it — exploring the world, and helping the world see Huatan.
世界公民領航營讓英語成為與世界對話的橋梁！2026花壇國中暑期未來菁英「十一大特色營隊」正式揭開序幕！首發登場的「世界公民領航營」，以 Cultural Exchange（文化交流）為主題，由外籍教師 Laurence 精心規劃三天沉浸式英語課程，讓學生在真實情境中開口說英語，培養跨文化溝通能力與國際視野。
第一天，同學們從生活情境出發，認識各式飲品、配料及英文名稱，並透過飲料店點餐情境對話練習，勇敢用英語介紹自己最喜愛的飲料配方，學習自然又有趣。
第二天，跨海連線泰國 Mukdahan High School，由 Miss Sara 帶領十年級學生共同參與國際視訊交流。我們介紹台灣最具代表性的珍珠奶茶，各組分享創意飲料配方，並模擬飲料店點餐情境，讓泰國學生彷彿置身台灣手搖飲店；泰國學生則分享當地特色美食 Miang、唐人街（Chinatown）、泰式奶茶等文化，雙方透過英語交流彼此的生活與文化，展現國際交流最珍貴的價值。課程最後，同學們親手調製多多茉莉綠茶、茉莉蘋果茶及茉莉柳橙汁，在茶香中體驗學習的樂趣。
第三天，透過電影《Swapped》賞析，引導學生思考不同文化背景下的理解、尊重與包容，深化文化交流的意義，培養世界公民應具備的同理心與全球素養。
從一杯珍珠奶茶開始，用英語認識世界；從一次跨國交流出發，讓世界看見花壇國中。
