May is the month when carnations bloom — a warm and moving time of year. In our library story time, Teacher Luke led the children through a light, simple song, helping them express sincerely the words they wanted to say to the family members who care for them.

I love you mommy /
My sweet sweet mommy /
You make me happy /
When I am sad /
I always have you /
Inside my heart /
When I am here with you /
I feel happy.

Line by line, the children sang along with Teacher Luke. Through music and English practice their learning deepened, and the familiar rhythm strengthened their memory. They hummed the song again and again — some were still singing it on the way back to their classrooms, swaying their heads as they went. Those little figures were the loveliest sight of today's story time.
