Love makes the withered sprout again — a little miracle in Mother's Month at Hsinmin. The bushy grasses on both sides of our school's breezeway had withered late last year with the change of season and climate. The dry, bare stems stood quietly in a corner of the campus, as if waiting for a gentle companion.
Thanks to our most dedicated morning story-time volunteer mothers — Chiang Mei-yin, Chiang Yi-fang and Shih Pei-ru — who specially redecorated these pots, the once-silent plants regained their colour and sense of life.
And in May, this season full of gratitude, a miracle quietly happened: beside the once-withered grasses, fresh green shoots and tiny seedlings appeared.

Perhaps that is just what life is. As long as someone is willing to care, to wait and to give love, even a place that seems to have lost its vitality can grow hope again. This greenery is not only the rebirth of a plant; it looks like the warmest face of a mother's love and of education itself.
Thank you to the children who water the plants every day, and to Mr. Chen Xi-ping for his careful tending. Because of everyone's shared care, a single pot of plants on campus became the most genuine lesson in life education. Mother's Day is not only about thanking mum; it reminds children to learn to cherish, to care, to wait and to give — because love really can make life sprout once more.
