A warm May, with grateful music drifting through the air — Hsinmin's Bilingual Music Showcase Concert came to a wonderful close. This was a long-prepared feast: teachers began selecting the repertoire and guiding rehearsals last semester, and through the hard work of every fourth- and fifth-grader, the most brilliant results finally bloomed today.

At Hsinmin, children take part in music performances from the second grade. Today's fourth- and fifth-graders had each stepped on stage at least three times before, yet seeing their beloved families in the audience, a flicker of nervousness still showed in their eyes — because they wanted to show their very best to the people they love most.

It is precisely this step-by-step accumulation that let our young hosts perform with such poise and steady stage presence; in their every gesture shone the confidence and grace of Hsinmin students.

Today's programme was a small musical journey around the world: American and Korean folk songs, classic Japanese cartoon themes, gentle Mandarin and Taiwanese numbers, fluent English songs, and powerful Indigenous-language pieces. Compared with last week's rehearsal, the children were livelier and more dynamic, brimming with rhythm.

The most moving picture of all was the gaze of those watching. In the final mass chorus, the parents, grandparents and homeroom teachers in the audience almost all raised their phones, afraid to miss a single shining moment of their treasures. That focus and love was the most touching scene in the hall.

Thank you to every child who worked so hard. Dear fourth- and fifth-graders — thank you for your perseverance and effort. Together we completed a perfect expression of ourselves. Hsinmin is proud of you!
