Hand Signals First: Safe Cycling to School

A bicycle does not have turn lights, so a young cyclist has to signal with an arm. Chaohsing Elementary reminds every rider: before you turn, raise the arm on the side you are turning toward, early enough for the drivers behind you to see what you are about to do.

自行車沒有方向燈，所以小騎士得靠手臂示意。朝興國小提醒每一位騎士：轉彎前，提早舉起欲轉彎方向側的手臂，讓後方的駕駛看得懂你接下來的動向。

Stretch your left arm out level to show a left turn; for a right turn, raise your right arm up or hold it out level to the right; hold your right arm down to show that you are about to slow down or stop.

左轉彎：左手水平向左伸直。右轉彎（二擇一）：右手向上舉起，或右手水平向右伸直。減速或停車：右手向下伸出。

At an intersection where you need to turn right, slow down first along the outside of the lane, follow the signals, and check that no car is coming before you turn. A few junctions have a two-stage right-turn sign — there, follow the sign and turn in two stages.

遇到需要右轉的路口，先沿車道外側放慢速度，依號誌指示、擺頭確認來車後再右轉。少數路口設有兩段式右轉標誌，就要依標誌採取兩段式右轉。
