Chaohsing Elementary School is led by Principal Kuo Shu-yuan, a long-serving grassroots educator in Changhua County. Before taking up the post at Chaohsing he served as Director of Academic Affairs at Xihu Elementary School, among other key roles, building a broad base of experience in teaching and in leading a school.
朝興國小由郭書源校長帶領。郭校長長期深耕於彰化縣基層教育，在接任朝興國小校長前，曾於彰化縣溪湖國民小學擔任教務主任等重要職務，累積了豐富的行政與教學領導經驗。
His work at Chaohsing is built around three ideas that belong together: learning that is rooted in place, an education rich in aesthetic literacy, and a commitment to the whole child.

Under Principal Kuo, learning at Chaohsing moves between the art room and the fields — food safety, guava dolls, pineapple custard, a young-farmer field trip — so that a small rural school connects its children to the traditions around them.
在郭校長帶領下，朝興的學習在美勞教室與田地之間移動——食安小學堂、編織芭樂公仔、鳳梨奶烙、少農踏查——讓一所鄉間小校，把孩子與身邊的傳產緊緊連在一起。
The principal is in the classroom too.
校長也站上講台。
Principal Kuo puts students at the centre and backs teaching with action. Alongside his leadership work, he takes open classes of his own — teaching a Grade 2 life-curriculum unit on growing vegetables in water, for example — supporting his teachers by standing where they stand and walking alongside the children as they grow.
郭校長強調以學生為主體，並用行動支持教學。除了行政領導，他也親自參與校內的公開授課——例如親自為二年級學生講授「水耕蔬菜」生活課程——站在老師的位置上支持老師，也一路陪伴孩子成長。
On campus by the guava trees, out on a field trip — Principal Kuo is usually somewhere in the picture, right next to the children.
