今天的句型 · You might think… But actually…
For Example: the Sun
First the myth, then the fact.
先說迷思，再說事實。
MythYou might think the Sun is yellow.
你可能以為太陽是黃色的。
FactBut actually, the Sun is white.
但其實，太陽是白色的。
How It Works · 怎麼用
  • You might think + the myth
    「你可能以為……」＋大家常有的錯誤想法
  • But actually, + the fact
    「但其實……」＋正確的事實
💡 Make a small pause at the comma after actually. Say actually as AK-chu-lee, and finish the t in might.
actually 後面有逗號，要停一下；actually 念成 AK-chu-lee，might 結尾的 t 要念出來。

Can you hear sounds in space?

You might think space is noisy.
But actually, space is silent.

Why? Sound needs air. Space has no air.
為什麼？聲音需要空氣才能傳播，而太空沒有空氣。

What color is the Sun?
太陽是什麼顏色？ 先猜猜看！
You might think the Sun is yellow.
But actually, the Sun is white.
你可能以為太陽是黃色的。但其實，太陽是白色的。
Why? Earth's air makes it look yellow.
為什麼？是地球的大氣讓它看起來黃黃的。
🔭 From space, astronauts see a white Sun. Never look straight at the Sun!在太空中，太空人看到的是白色的太陽。千萬不要直視太陽！

Does the Moon make its own light?
月球會自己發光嗎？ 先猜猜看！
You might think the Moon makes light.
But actually, the Sun lights the Moon.
你可能以為月球會發光。但其實，是太陽照亮了月球。
Why? Moonlight is sunlight bouncing off rock.
為什麼？月光其實是陽光照到月球岩石後反射回來的光。
🔭 That's why the Moon seems to change shape: we see different amounts of its sunny side.所以月亮看起來會改變形狀（月相）：我們看到它被太陽照亮的部分有多有少。

Mars is red. Is it hot?
火星是紅色的，它很熱嗎？ 先猜猜看！
You might think Mars is hot.
But actually, Mars is very cold.
你可能以為火星很熱。但其實，火星非常冷。
Why? It is far from the Sun. Its air is thin.
為什麼？它離太陽很遠，大氣又很稀薄。
🔭 Mars is red because of rust in its dust. On average it is about −60°C!火星是紅色的，是因為塵土裡有鐵鏽；它的平均溫度大約是攝氏零下 60 度！

Which planet is the hottest?

You might think Mercury is the hottest.
But actually, Venus is the hottest planet.
你可能以為水星最熱。但其實，金星才是最熱的行星。
Why? Thick clouds trap the heat.
為什麼？厚厚的雲層把熱鎖住了。
🔭 Venus is about 465°C — hot enough to melt lead, even though Mercury is closer to the Sun.金星大約攝氏 465 度，熱到可以把鉛熔化，雖然水星離太陽更近。

Is Saturn the only planet with rings?

You might think only Saturn has rings.
But actually, four planets have rings.

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

🔭 Saturn's rings are big and bright. The other rings are thin and dark, so they are hard to see.土星的光環又大又亮；其他三顆的光環又細又暗，很難看見。

You might think Pluto is a planet.
But actually, Pluto is a dwarf planet.

Why? Scientists changed its group in 2006.
為什麼？科學家在 2006 年把它改分到另一類。
🔭 Pluto was called a planet from 1930 to 2006. Science can change when we learn more!冥王星從 1930 到 2006 年都被叫做行星。當我們知道得更多，科學也會跟著改變！
