On May 16, three Zhongzheng students — with a fourth joining as a demo participant — took the stage at the Erlin Township Library's Little Angel Selection. Each child stepped up to introduce themselves and perform a short talent piece. Some were lively and bold; others were quiet and thoughtful; every one of them carried a spark of self-confidence that drew steady applause. All three were selected. The little angels now step into their year of welcoming readers — carrying, as the school hopes, the seed of reading a little further into every corner of Erlin.
5 月 16 日，中正共有 3 位學生報名、1 位示範賽，站上了二林鎮立圖書館「親善小天使選拔活動」的舞台。每位小朋友輪流上台自我介紹並進行才藝表演——有的活潑大方、有的沉穩有禮，各自展現出自信與獨特魅力，讓現場掌聲不斷。三位孩子全數順利入選，成為圖書館最可愛的小天使。感謝家長的支持與陪伴，也期待孩子們未來在圖書館活動中，繼續傳遞閱讀的溫暖與快樂，讓閱讀種子在二林持續發芽茁壯。
Hua Shan Foundation's Erlin Station director and volunteer grandmothers led our fourth-graders through a remarkable exercise: simulating an elder's body — unsteady walking, fading memory, hands that no longer respond. Everyday actions suddenly demanded twice the time and twice the effort. Children learned to slow down, to walk beside, and to translate that empathy into how they treat the elders waiting for them at home.
華山基金會二林站許站長與志工阿嬤們帶領四年級進行敬老體驗——透過模擬阿公阿嬤走路不便、記憶退化、手腳不靈活的情境，原本簡單的動作都需要更多時間與力氣。孩子們學會放慢腳步、用心陪伴，把這份體會帶回家庭，從日常互動中落實孝順與感恩。
The school's Mother's Day Card Contest ended in the central hallway — every card a quiet act of love. Children worked carefully, and the entries this year reached a level that surprised the judges. Behind the contest was a piece of art education and a small lesson in gratitude — learning to put love into action, and to put it on paper.

A surprise guest arrived: "Grandpa Fruit" — played by the principal himself — joined eleven volunteer mothers in the short play Mom's 100 Faces. When mom shows her "cat face," it means a child is being thoughtful. When the "lion face" appears, perhaps it's time to reflect. The auditorium closed with carnations for every volunteer mother, and a warm Mother's Day blessing from the whole school.
校園出現神秘嘉賓——由校長化身「水果爺爺」，與 11 位志工媽媽共同演出短劇《媽媽的 100 張臉孔》。當媽媽露出溫柔的「貓咪臉」，代表孩子貼心懂事；當生氣的「獅子臉」出現，也讓孩子想想自己是否需要調整。活動最後，學校為志工媽媽們獻上康乃馨，現場洋溢著溫馨與感恩的氣氛。
A full-school carnival under the Christmas tree. The string orchestra opened the night with the season's classics; the recorder ensemble followed, building on a year of patient practice. The international-education station ran a "Roll the Dice and Say a Christmas Wish" game in English — turning the festival's joy into spoken-English practice and a small window onto the wider world.

A dedicated calligraphy classroom has finally opened at Zhongzheng — quietly and elegantly arranged by our calligraphy teacher to inspire deep, attentive practice. Our retired calligraphy master, Director Chang Chen-ming, continues to guide students every club session, walking them from broad-stroked beginnings to the patient layout and brush-rhythm of true calligraphic art.
哇~~「書法教室」耶！終於有一間專門給孩子們練習書法的場所。整個教室經書法老師精心布置，顯得典雅細緻。本校退休書法大師張振明主任持續於每星期社團時間指導學生習寫書法——從粗枝大葉的揮灑，到耐心布局的筆韻，培養學生對藝術之美的鑑賞力。
The county-wide language arts competition gave our students a stage to show what years of "whole-language elite education" have built. In this year's preliminary round our representatives placed at the top of their fields: Liu Pai-chia (Calligraphy, 5-3), Lin Liang-yu (Composition, 5-3), Su Yen-su (Mandarin Recitation, 4-4), and Shih Yu-cheng (Pronunciation & Character Form, 4-4). Tomorrow's harvest depends on today's ploughing.
每年全縣語文競賽，給了孩子們展露平日語文教育成果的舞台。今年（115 年）全縣複賽中：寫字組五年 3 班劉百加、作文組五年 3 班林亮宇、國語朗讀組四年 4 班蘇筵絲、字音字形組四年 4 班施宇誠皆名列前茅。「明日的成果，就要看今日的耕耘。」
In the 114 first-semester Kang Hsuan Cloud Academic Tournament, Zhongzheng students brought home both class group awards and individual prizes. The wins came from a daily habit: watching the teaching videos on the platform, going back to correct the mistakes, and trying again. Cumulative practice — not a one-time push — is what stood out under tournament pressure.

Zhongzheng's Maker Club — the school's core engine for competency-oriented learning — won again. The club breaks the boundaries of traditional subjects, training students in computational thinking, cross-disciplinary project work, and team collaboration. Children learn to observe a real need, combine science, technology and engineering, and make something with their own hands — a piece of work that has a temperature to it.

Two days, one stage, every kind of talent. Piano and violin filled the hall; jazz drums set hearts beating. The vocal group sang from the inside; the dance group radiated charisma. Every child gave everything to one shining moment of their own — and showed the world what "confident, healthy, joyful, hopeful Zhongzheng kids" look like.

Annual outdoor education — every grade with its own destination. The 6th graders headed south for a two-day graduation trip; the 5th graders visited the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village to meet indigenous cultures; the 4th graders tackled Janfusun's thrilling rides; the 3rd graders enjoyed Lihpao's mix of fun and shopping; the 1st and 2nd graders had their very first outdoor education together — riding the little train at the Xihu Sugar Factory and finishing the day with sugar-mill popsicles.
又到了小朋友最期待的戶外教育活動。今年六年級到南部二日遊，畢業前的難忘旅程；五年級到九族文化村，體驗原住民文化；四年級到劍湖山世界，挑戰刺激的遊樂設施；三年級到麗寶樂園，遊樂與購物兼具；一、二年級共同經歷第一次戶外教育，在溪湖糖廠搭乘小火車與吃冰棒，真是快樂的一天。
For Friendly Campus Week, the principal addressed the whole school on the theme "Refuse Short-Video Risks, Build Digital Discernment." Students were reminded to think and verify before believing or forwarding what they see — to avoid imitating dangerous behaviour, and to seek help from a teacher, parent, or the 1925 Care Hotline if something they see leaves them disturbed. Building a campus that is, by everyone's hands, safe and friendly.
校長以「拒絕短影音風險，培養數位思辨力」為主題，提醒學生觀看短影音時要學會思考與查證，不盲從、不隨意轉傳未經證實的資訊，並避免模仿危險行為。若遇到令人不安或造成情緒困擾的內容，應主動向師長、家長求助，或撥打 1925 安心專線尋求協助，共同營造安全友善的校園環境。
A guest instructor from Taiwan Power Company walked our students through the kinds of energy that power their lives — and the actual wattage of the appliances they use every day. Practical conservation tips followed: small daily habits that build into a real cherishing of energy. The goal: students who carry what they learned home, and become "little electricity-saving champions" for the planet.
台灣電力公司之講師透過淺顯易懂的解說，帶領學生認識能源種類、發電方式，以及日常生活中各類電器的用電功率。講師也分享許多實用的節能小技巧，讓孩子們了解如何從生活中落實節約用電，培養珍惜能源的好習慣——期望學生能將所學運用於日常生活，從自身做起，一起成為愛護地球的節電小達人。
The school invited Teacher Hu Yu-chen from Wacoal's Education Promotion Department to give a health talk to our fifth-graders. With a healthy, positive tone, she walked them through the body changes of puberty, secondary sex characteristics, and personal hygiene. Watching the children move from shy giggles to focused listening, we saw real growth. Puberty is a beautiful change — it doesn't have to be awkward.
學校為五年級舉辦了「生理衛生講座」。講師為華歌爾公司教育推廣部胡玉珍老師，用健康、正向的態度，帶孩子認識青春期的身體變化、第二性徵與個人衛生。看著孩子們從羞澀憋笑到專注聆聽，我們的孩子真的長大了！青春期是美麗的蛻變，不需要尷尬——讓我們用愛與理解，陪伴孩子自信成長。
Campus safety begins with the adults. The school used a Wednesday afternoon for a full-faculty workshop on CPR, AED operation, the Heimlich manoeuvre, and tactical tourniquet use, taught by Specialist Nurse Wang Chih-jou and the Erlin Christian Hospital team. The principal, the directors, and the teachers all became students for an afternoon — practising compressions, drilling the protocol, becoming a real safety net for the children in the moments that count most.

At 9:21 sharp the alarm sounded, and our students dove under their desks in one fluid motion — gripping the legs, executing the three life-saving moves: Drop, Cover, Hold On. They stayed there until the commander (the principal) called the evacuation; then they crawled out, used their textbooks or seat cushions to shield head and neck, and followed teachers to the assembly point on the field. The students were practised and the teachers were calm. Our school's disaster preparedness is real.
921 地震防災演練：9:21 警報聲一響，小朋友立刻機警的躲至桌下，緊握桌腳，執行趴下、掩護、穩住，保命三動作，直到指揮官（校長）宣布進行疏散，小朋友才從桌底下爬出，手拿桌墊或書本遮蔽頭頸部，隨著老師指揮疏散到操場上的集合點。小朋友對於這些動作都很熟悉，教師也都指揮得很流暢——關於防災，本校師生都已有良好的知識與應變能力。
The annual Sports Carnival at the county stadium — and our graduating sixth-graders took the field one last time for the school. The event: nine-grid baseball precision throw. Coaches had walked them through grip, technique and confidence; what we watched was every throw carrying the hope of one more point. Every student gave their best — a small year-12 sized stage that brought out the confidence, health, joy and hope of Zhongzheng kids.

A full month of inter-class jump rope competition for the lower grades. Jump rope is a simple but powerful whole-body exercise — a sustained jump-rope habit builds cardiovascular fitness and a healthy body. With correct posture, it doubles as strength and cardio training, working both lower-body core and arms, raising muscle mass, and keeping the body burning calories long after the rope stops spinning.
跳繩是一項簡單有成效的全身性運動，持續維持跳繩習慣能有效提升學生們心肺功能、打造健康體質。只要掌握正確姿勢，更能兼顧瘦身與健康——跳繩結合了肌力與心肺訓練，跳躍過程能鍛鍊下半身核心與手臂，非常適合增加全身肌肉量，有效提高學生成長率，更能讓人在休息時也能持續消耗熱量。
The annual swimming course — from "afraid of water" to learning how to breathe and float. Conquering fear comes first: when a student steps into water that surrounds them completely, the body tenses. By adapting to the temperature, practising face-immersion in the shallow end, and feeling the lift of the "jellyfish float," they learn the rhythm of swimming — exhale, inhale, hold — which makes the stroke easy and lasting. A core-and-cardio workout, and a life-saving skill in one.

Three days, every fifth-grade class fighting for class honour at the half-court tchoukball tournament. Each student brought their own skill to the field; each play was a small drama in defence and attack. With coaches' tactics and the team's quick coverage, our fifth-graders showed both concentration and cooperation in catches that brought the sidelines to their feet — small bodies with big-game composure, all radiating that signature Zhongzheng "confident, healthy, joyful, hopeful" energy.

Three days, every third-grade class on the line at the inter-class dodgeball tournament. Children brought their own moves; every dodge was a small story. With combination attacks taught by the coaches and quick lateral movement on the court, students faced down fastballs together — turning to encourage each other after every catch. Brave grabs and near-perfect plays brought every Zhongzheng third-grader closer to that quiet adult composure: confident, healthy, joyful, hopeful.

Saturday, April 11, 2026 is registration day for the 115th-school-year first-graders — children who, six years from now, will graduate as the Class of 2032. As generative AI tools become part of children's everyday digital lives, the Ministry of Education has released versions 2.0 and 2.1 of its "Guidelines for Generative AI Use in Schools." Zhongzheng's IT and computer-class teachers have folded these into classroom conversations on responsible use — when AI helps, when it misleads, and how to keep a child's own thinking at the centre of learning.
