About Our School

Born to Serve Five Villages

為五個村庄而生的學校

One school, five villages — and then three new schools of its own.

In September 1955, Erlin Elementary carved out twenty of its classes and sent them south, to serve the five villages of Nanguang, Zhongxi, Guangxing, Xiangtian, and Waizhu. The new school was first known simply as “Erlin Second National School,” and three months later took the name it has carried ever since: Zhongzheng.

Over the next seventy years, three of those original villages grew children of their own — Guangxing, Xiangtian, and Yude elementary schools all branched off from Zhongzheng's district. The school today still rises in Nanguang Village, but its history lives in four campuses across southern Erlin.

1955 年 9 月，二林國民學校劃出 20 個班級南遷，服務當時的南光、中西、廣興、香田、外竹五個村庄。新校最初暫名「二林第二國民學校」，三個月後正式定名為「中正」，沿用至今。

七十年間，原本五里的學區陸續長出三所新學校——廣興國小、香田國小、育德國小都是從中正再分立而出。如今中正國小坐落在南光里，但她的校史走在二林南境四所小學的校園裡。

A Seed School 南境四校的母校

Zhongzheng is the kind of place that's hard to find on a tourist map and impossible to leave out of southern Erlin's history. In 1955 we were the seed; in 1970, 1980, and 1985 three of our five villages each grew their own school. We do not measure ourselves by size — we measure ourselves by the kids three villages over who learn to read because of a school that grew from this one.

中正國小不是觀光地圖上會圈起來的學校，但她不可能從二林南境的小學史中被略去。1955 年我們是種子；後來的數十年間，廣興、香田、育德三所小學陸續從中正分立而出。我們不靠規模衡量自己，我們看的是「三個村莊外」那些因為一所從這裡分出的學校而學會讀書識字的孩子。

Maker education, computational thinking, one-tablet-per-student, Scratch, Microbit, Arduino, and AI literacy — you can see all of these on our daily schedule, in a school of village families that does not, by any other measure, look like a tech school. We believe the gap between rural and city kids closes one classroom tablet at a time.

Every student at Zhongzheng has a free login to the National Library of Public Information's e-book platform — just one of many quiet doors we leave open. We host Kang Hsuan academic contests, run Hakka-language online classes, share Cool English with every English teacher, and broadcast bilingual morning announcements across the campus.

A free login to the National Library of Public Information's e-book collection comes with every student account. We don't make a fuss about it — we just leave the door open and trust that one student per year will walk through it and find a book that changes how they read.

The Morning Intercom Speaks Twice 校園廣播的雙語版本

Every morning the announcements come through the speakers in two languages. By the third grade, our students have heard more English on the way to homeroom than most adults hear in a school year. That early ear is the foundation of every later word.

The First Language Comes Home 客家語、台語的線上課程

We host Hakka-language online sessions and weave Taiwanese into our weekly schedule. A bilingual school that forgets the first language of its grandparents has only learned half of what bilingual really means.

中正開設客家語的線上課程，將台語融入每週的課表。一所雙語學校如果遺忘了孩子阿公阿嬤的第一語言，那她對「雙語」的理解只走了一半。
