What Twenty-Three Years Looks Like 23 年的意義

At the 66th Changhua County Science Fair in April 2026, Yangming Junior High School took first place in five subjects — mathematics, physics, biology, and two divisions of applied life science. All five teams advance to the national finals. The school also collected first place in the team-championship trophy and second place in the team-improvement trophy. With this, Yangming's run of consecutive county team championships has now reached twenty-three years.

在 2026 年 4 月舉行的第 66 屆彰化縣中小學科學展覽會中，陽明國中拿下五個科目的第一名——數學科、物理科、生物科，以及生活與應用科學科 (一)、(三)。五科第一名全部代表彰化縣晉級全國賽。學校同時奪得團體獎第一名與團體精進獎第二名。至此，陽明國中已連續 23 年奪下彰化縣科展團體冠軍。

Twenty-three years means: a child who started elementary school the year of Yangming's first championship is now an adult. It means more than two thousand cohorts of seventh-graders have walked the same corridors and watched the same trophies grow heavier. It is, by any honest measure, the longest streak of its kind in Taiwan's secondary-school science community.

23 年是什麼意思？意思是：那一年陽明第一次拿下團體冠軍時剛上小學的孩子，現在已經是大人了。意思是有超過兩千梯次的七年級新生，走過同一條走廊、看著同一座越來越沉的獎座。這是目前全台灣中學科學教育界，最久、未曾中斷的同類紀錄。

Five First-Place Subjects 五個第一名

Each first-place team chose its own line of inquiry — from geometric beauty to the small ecologies of insects — under the guidance of Yangming's veteran science faculty.

每一個拿下第一名的團隊，都在校內資深科學教師的指導下，選擇自己的研究方向——從幾何之美、到光的隱藏機制、再到昆蟲世界裡那些小小的化學反應。

What Makes This Possible 這件事的背景

A streak this long is not the work of a single classroom or a single year's lucky cohort. It is built from a school culture that takes scientific thinking seriously — protected over decades by the same group of patient teachers, refined through generations of student researchers, and trusted by parents who understand that real learning takes time. Yangming's science club, after-school enrichment, and weekend lab time all feed into this one outcome each spring.

這樣一條長達 23 年的紀錄，不是一個班級、不是某一屆好運的成果。它是一所學校長期把科學思維當一回事的文化——在同一群有耐心的老師守護下、在一屆又一屆學生研究員手中精煉、在那些理解「真正的學習需要時間」的家長支持下，慢慢長出來的。陽明的科學社團、課後增能課程、與週末實驗時間，都是這個春天結果的養分。

On the school's website, Principal Chang Yao-Chung writes: "Education is what makes a child deeply confident." Five first-place subjects in one season is one shape that confidence can take.
