Across the Pacific in Trinidad, California, our partner school's children sit in different classrooms, study in a different language, and walk under different trees — and yet, with us, they have built one shared bilingual picture book: "The Sheep and the Dragon."

One half of the book is illustrated by Sijhou children: a year in the life of a Taiwanese sheep. The other half by Trinidad children: a year in the life of an American dragon. The two animals never meet in the story — they meet in the binding. Online video meetings continue with St. Mary's School (Philippines) on Filipino games and SDGs.

在太平洋的另一端、美國加州的 Trinidad，姊妹校的孩子們在不一樣的教室、講不一樣的語言——卻和溪州孩子共同完成同一本雙語繪本《羊與龍的生活》。一邊是溪州孩子畫的羊、一邊是 Trinidad 孩子畫的龍——兩隻動物在故事裡沒有相遇，卻在書脊上相見。並與菲律賓 St. Mary's School 持續線上交流，分享菲律賓遊戲與 SDGs 議題。

Sijhou's announcements board pinned a new opportunity: a nationwide AI × Bilingual Children's Drama Camp for elementary students. The brief reads like a Sijhou-native idea — script in two languages, AI as a co-writer, then up on stage. With Sijhou's homegrown drama tradition (the Thank You, Old Tree production), it's an obvious fit.

學校公告了 2026 全國「創意兒童小劇場 — 國小 AI × 雙語兒童創意戲劇營」訊息——以雙語編劇、AI 協作、再搬上舞台。與溪州自家的師生劇場傳統（《感謝那些年，大樹陪我們的日子》）一脈相承。

In May 2022, the Sijhou Township office began a township-wide nutritional drinks programme — 1,446 students across 2 junior highs and 9 elementary schools, with shelf-stable milk, fresh milk, and soy milk delivered 2–3 times a week. When COVID-19 paused in-person classes county-wide, Principal Cheng Li-Ya kept the delivery contract running for any child who showed up at Sijhou. United Daily News called it "Changhua's only school that kept the milk flowing."

2022 年 5 月，溪州鄉公所推動全鄉「營養飲品計畫」——保久乳、鮮奶、豆漿，每週 2–3 次送到 1,446 位學童手上。COVID-19 期間其他學校停課，鄭麗雅校長把溪州國小的採購合約繼續執行，「彰化縣唯一」仍在發飲品的學校。鄉長江淑芬親自到校道謝。

Sijhou Elementary serves as a posting board for the township's Adult Basic Education programme and the New Immigrants Literacy Class — running alongside the children's curriculum, in the same buildings, often by the same teachers. A century-old rural school is also the township's quiet, year-round community classroom.

溪州國小同時也是溪州鄉公所「成人基本教育研習班」與「新住民識字班」的公告窗口——和孩子的課程在同一棟樓裡進行，常常由同樣的老師主帶。一所百年偏鄉校，也是這個鄉的全年無休社區教室。
