On an auspicious morning, Principal Hsieh Ching-sen and Community Association Chairman Hong led the school’s administrative staff and ninth-grade homeroom teachers to Hexing Temple, the guardian shrine of Pitou Township, to pray for every one of this year’s ninth-grade test-takers.
A quiet wish, carried skyward in temple smoke.
Standing before the incense burner, the group offered incense on behalf of students who couldn’t be there themselves — asking for calm hearts, clear heads, and the confidence to show what years of study had built.

With the Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students (國中教育會考) just five days away — on May 16 and 17 — the temple visit carried one simple wish: that every Pitou ninth grader would walk into the exam hall steady, and walk out proud of what they’d given.
