In 2023, Mingli students learned to be English ambassadors for their hometown — Tianzhong, the "Rice Granary of Taiwan." They explored the 1937 granary, the Zhuoshui River rice culture, and the Babaozun Tianzhong Rice brand, then practised presenting it all in English.2023 年，明禮的孩子學習成為家鄉的英文代言人——田中，「台灣的稻米倉庫」。他們認識 1937 年的田中穀倉、濁水溪米文化與八堡圳田中米，並練習用英語介紹家鄉。
"Central Taiwan" refers to five counties and cities: Miaoli County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Nantou County, and Yunlin County. Located at the heart of Taiwan, these places are ideal for travel, as the climate is mild. Surrounded by mountains to the north, south, and east, Changhua faces the Taiwan Strait to the west.
「中部台灣」指的是五個縣市：苗栗縣、台中市、彰化縣、南投縣和雲林縣。這些地方位於台灣的中心，氣候溫和，非常適合旅遊。彰化北、南、東三面環山，西面則臨台灣海峽。
Tianzhong Granary was built in 1937 by the Taichung Prefecture Agricultural Association, and it was mainly used to store rice. The warehouse is a wooden structure with a rainboard wall, and it has a gabled Japanese tile roof. Inside is a single room with a freight walkway down the middle and several wooden pillars; the interior wooden trusses form a three-hinged arch. The granary is now managed by the Changhua County Agricultural Association and is open to the public.
田中穀倉建於 1937 年，由台中州農會興建，主要用於儲放米穀。穀倉為木造建築，外觀為雨淋板牆，並置有扶壁，屋頂為雙坡日式瓦作屋頂。內部為單間，中間為貨運走道，立有數根木支柱，木桁架為三絞拱形式。穀倉目前由彰化縣農會管理，並開放民眾參觀。
A long time ago, in a small town called Tianzhong, there was a warehouse made of wood — very tall and large. It stored a lot of rice, the food the villagers relied on. One day a big storm came and the warehouse was blown down. The villagers were very sad. Then the village chief said, "We can rebuild the warehouse." Everyone worked together, and the new warehouse was taller, larger, and more solid than before. The story of Tianzhong Granary tells us that we can overcome any difficulty if we work together.
很久以前，在一個叫田中的小鎮上，有一座木造穀倉，很高很大，儲存著村民賴以為生的米穀。有一天大風暴來襲，穀倉被吹倒了，村民們非常難過。後來村長說：「我們可以把穀倉重新建起來。」大家齊心協力，新的穀倉比舊的更高、更大、更堅固。這個故事告訴我們：只要齊心協力，就能克服任何困難。
Babaozun Tianzhong Rice is grown in Tianzhong, Changhua County — one of Taiwan's most well-known rice brands. It has a sweet taste and a moderate stickiness, and it is a staple ingredient in many Taiwanese home-cooked meals. It can also be used to make treats such as sticky rice, zongzi, mochi, tangyuan, glutinous rice cake, and sweet soup. If you ever visit Taiwan, you must try a dish made with Babaozun Tianzhong Rice!

The water from the Zhuoshui River and the fertile soil of Tianzhong make it a perfect place to grow rice, and the weather suits it too. First, the tractor prepares the rice paddy; then the rice seedlings are planted in the field. Tianzhong rice has a sweet taste and a very nice texture — you can make fried rice, rice porridge, rice dumplings, mochi, and sushi with it. The students even mixed taro flour and water by hand and rolled out many taro balls together. Welcome to Tianzhong, Changhua County, Taiwan!
