Hemei Elementary School sits in Hemei Township, in the northern part of Changhua County. It is a large township school — home to more than nine hundred children — and one of the oldest in the county, founded more than a century ago; the campus “Centennial Garden” stone was set in 1996.
和美國小位於彰化縣北部的和美鎮，是一所學生數逾九百人的大型學校，也是彰化縣歷史最悠久的學校之一，創校迄今已逾百年，校園中的「百齡園」紀念石立於民國 85 年（1996 年）。
Over more than a century, Hemei has turned tradition into a driving force for progress. Today the campus has fine buildings, an outstanding teaching team, a richly stocked library and a dedicated arts centre that hosts exhibitions all year round. The school’s signature field is the Arts and Humanities, and its children are eager to learn, to grow and to shine.
走過一百多年，和美將傳統轉化為進步的動力。今日的校園有美輪美奐的硬體建設、優異的師資陣容、典藏豐富的圖書館，以及定期饗宴的藝文展覽中心。學校以「藝術與人文」為發展特色，孩子們渴望學習、成長，並在各項活動中發光。
Hemei’s students have earned national recognition in music and dance, and consistently strong results in table tennis and dodgeball — the school’s traditional sports teams. Its inline-skating programme teaches perseverance and commitment, one lap at a time.
和美的學生在音樂與舞蹈上獲得全國性的肯定，在桌球與躲避球——學校的傳統運動團隊——也年年繳出亮眼成績；直排輪課程則讓孩子在一圈又一圈的練習中，學會毅力與堅持。

Hemei has chosen the Arts and Humanities as its signature field. The school runs the Zhenmei Painting Society, holds regular exhibitions in its arts centre, and fills its corridors, classrooms and public spaces with student work — from the painted “bookshelf” wall of the reading gallery to the murals along the ramps.
和美以「藝術與人文」為發展特色，成立臻美畫會，在藝文展覽中心定期辦理展覽，並讓學生的作品佈滿走廊、教室與公共空間——從閱讀藝廊那面彩繪的「書牆」，到坡道旁的壁畫。
At Hemei, art is not kept in a single room. It is on the walls, in the gardens and in the everyday life of the school — so that children grow up surrounded by things made with care.

A school history museum tells the story of a hundred-year-old school and roots today’s children in the place they come from. 校史館呈現百年老校的悠久歷史，讓孩子扎根於自己成長的土地，落實鄉土教育。
The Zhenmei Painting Society, a year-round exhibition programme and student art in every corridor make the arts part of daily life. 臻美畫會、全年不斷的展覽，以及每條走廊上的學生作品，讓藝術成為日常。
Hemei’s teams research and publish their findings in the International Schools Cyberfair, winning Platinum, Gold and Silver awards year after year. 和美的隊伍在國際學校網界博覽會發表研究成果，白金賞、金牌賞、銀牌賞年年迭創佳績。
Recorder ensemble, choir and string orchestra are regular winners at county music contests; table tennis and dodgeball are the school’s formidable traditional teams. 直笛隊、合唱團、弦樂團是全縣音樂比賽的常勝軍；桌球隊、排球隊則是和美傲視群雄的傳統勁旅。
