A small mountain-town school with more than a century of stories to tell.
一所坐落於山城、擁有超過一個世紀故事的小學。
Ershui Elementary stands in the heart of Ershui, a quiet township in southern Changhua where the slopes of Bagua Mountain roll down to the wide bed of the Zhuoshui River. The town's name means "two waters" — and water has shaped life here for centuries, ever since the historic Bābǎo Canal was carved to carry the river across the fields.
二水國小坐落於彰化南端、寧靜山城二水鄉的中心——這裡是八卦山緩緩傾入濁水溪寬闊河床的地方。「二水」之名意為「兩條水」,數百年來,自八堡圳開鑿、引濁水溪灌溉這片土地起,水就形塑了這裡的生活。
Founded 125 years ago, our school is the central elementary school of the township. Today, with the help of My Culture Connect, English is woven into everyday school life — through a growing Word of the Day video library, music and arts clubs, and a deep reading culture that reaches all the way back to the Chinese classics.
本校創校125 年,是二水鄉的中心國小。如今在人師教育協會(My Culture Connect)的協助下,英語融入了日常校園生活——透過持續累積的 Word of the Day 影片庫、音樂與藝術社團,以及一路追溯到中華經典的深厚閱讀文化。
Set between Bagua Mountain and the Zhuoshui River, beside the historic Bābǎo Canal — the countryside of Ershui is our students' first and largest classroom.
Taiko drums, violin, recorder, the Chinese yo-yo (diabolo), calligraphy and dance — Ershui children grow up with an instrument and an art form in hand.
From the school-wide Classics Recitation Grand Exam to daily quiet reading, Ershui students learn to draw wisdom from both timeless texts and modern books.
Our campus remembers Teacher Asai Hatsuko, who gave her life in 1940 saving a student at the canal. Her memorial — "a teacher's grace, forever" — still stands here.
From a small town famous for its canal and its "water-running" festival, Ershui students learn that the same patient currents that water the fields can also carry them out to the wider, bilingual world.
