On today's back-to-school registration day — also a teacher prep day — Erlin's Academic Affairs Office invited Chi Ching-ju, Chief Investigation and Protection Officer at the Keelung District Court, to give a special talk to the faculty. Officer Chi has spent years working in juvenile case handling and campus legal education — not only a frontline protection officer for at-risk youth, but also a trusted resource for teachers and parents alike.
Drawing on real cases, Officer Chi walked through the range of issues young people face on campus today. In her direct, plain-spoken style, she reminded everyone that "the law isn't meant to punish — it's meant to protect and guide." Listening and empathy, she said, are the key to reaching a child's heart; teachers, too, need to stay calm and gentle when solving problems, so they can offer the strongest support at the moments that matter most.
Thank you, Officer Chi, for a talk that gave our teachers real energy and a legal mindset to carry forward! And a special thanks to every Erlin teacher for staying focused and engaged even on such a busy registration day — and to our principal, for attending the whole session in support of the team.
