從車來車往的山腳路轉進寧靜的小巷，田園環繞，八卦山脈就在校園後方。
Turn off busy Shanjiao Road into a quiet lane, and you will find low houses, villas and family homes side by side in peace. Our painted white walls stand on both sides of the school gate — a little weathered here and there, but still standing proud. Across Fuxing and Pinghe villages, rice paddies and vegetable gardens ripple like green waves in the spring breeze, and behind the campus rise the Bagua Mountains, full of life. This is the DongHe school district.
從車來車往的山腳路轉進寧靜的小巷，可見平房、別墅、人家，和諧安詳地共存著。彩漆粉白的圍牆，雖可見少許斑駁落漆，仍舊傲然屹立在進入校門的兩側；復興、平和里片片的稻田、菜園，在春風中搖曳著碧綠的波浪，綠意盎然，無限生機，與校園後的八卦山脈遙相呼應，展現無比旺盛的生生不息之氣，這就是我們的學區。
DongHe Elementary School opened on August 1, 1961. Ever since, the children of our community have started school here, carrying the care and hopes of their hometown with them. DongHe is a good school — full of energy, full of ideals and full of life. We are grateful to every principal before us for their dedication and the years they gave. As education keeps changing, we face the future with confidence, because DongHe has a team of professional, young and excellent teachers, and parents who love this school and quietly work hard for its children.
民國五十年八月一日，東和國小創校，社區裡的子弟，承受桑梓的關懷與期許，踏進東和國小啟蒙。東和國小是個好學校，是個活力充沛的學校，也是個有理想、有生命力的學校；感激歷任校長的辦學堅持、一路走來的辛苦與全然青春歲月的付出。面對教育思潮的洗禮與衝擊，我們相當有信心，因為東和擁有一群專業、年輕、優秀的老師與愛校的家長們，默默的為孩子們努力。
Our history may not be the longest, but our record speaks for itself. In recent years especially, our teachers have worked with energy and foresight to make the most of small classes in a small school and to raise the quality of learning. The whole school is showing a fresh new spirit — and winning warm praise from parents and the local community.
歷年來的表現可謂可圈可點，尤以近年來在全體教師的努力之下，更是以積極、前瞻的作為，落實小班小校教學內涵、提升教育品質，全校已逐漸呈現嶄新的氣象與活力，深獲家長及地方人士的肯定與讚揚。

This is DongHe’s main vision. Look at our crest: two figures stand in front of a green mountain, inside a bright red circle. Our school sits right at the foot of the Bagua Mountains — and from here, we want every child to look out to the whole world.

Curious children who learn by exploring and doing. Our inquiry-based theme activities are built around food and farm education.

Three traditions that make DongHe, DongHe.
學校發展特色：民俗體育、藝術深耕、食農教育。
DongHe was once known across the county as a folk sports school. In 1976, answering the government’s call to promote traditional folk arts, our students took up shuttlecock kicking, rope skipping and kite flying, and these became DongHe traditions. As times changed and veteran coaches retired, those activities became hard to keep going. To carry the spirit forward, in recent years we pass on our school’s sporting tradition through lion dance, martial arts, unicycling and archery.
本校早期為民俗體育特色學校，自民國65年起響應政府提倡民俗傳統藝術教育活動，使民俗體育（踢毽子、跳繩、放風箏）成為本校傳統特色。然因時代變遷、師資凋零，傳統風氣沒落，推展踢毽子、跳繩、放風箏也窒礙難行。為延續傳統特色，近幾年以舞獅、武術、獨輪車及射箭傳承校本體育特色。
Since 2010, DongHe has been part of the county’s Arts Deepening program as a member of its ocarina alliance, putting the “one child, one instrument” policy into practice with ocarina lessons — our hope is that every student can play an instrument. In 2015 we added the Chinese bamboo flute, and our clubs also offer rhythm instruments and recorder, encouraging students to go further in the arts. DongHe has been rated Superior in Changhua County’s Arts Deepening evaluation for music in the 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 school years, and again in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
民國99年起參與藝術深耕－陶笛聯盟，落實一人一樂器教育政策實施陶笛教學，希冀未來全校學生皆能吹奏一項樂器，並於104年增加中國笛，以及在社團活動規劃節奏樂器及直笛的學習，鼓勵學生向藝術的領域更上一層樓。在101、104、105、107、108、110–112學年度榮獲彰化縣音樂類藝術深耕計畫評比特優的殊榮。
Our school-based curriculum under Taiwan’s 12-year curriculum guidelines centers on food and farm education, under the theme 食全食美 — a play on a Chinese saying that means “perfect in every way,” written with the word for food. Children grow it, cook it, and learn the manners and the art of sharing it.
108課綱以食全食美－食農教育課程為校訂課程主軸。
After class and all summer long, there’s always something new to try.
課後與暑假，總有新鮮事等著孩子們去嘗試。
Through after-school care, upper-grade electives, summer programs and help from community volunteers and college students, DongHe children try everything from lion dance and archery to calligraphy, clay and board games — and step off campus to wetlands, harbors and historic towns.
透過課後照顧社團、高年級選修、暑期課程，以及社區志工與大學生的協助，東和的孩子從舞獅、射箭到書法、黏土、桌遊都能嘗試，也走出校園，到溼地、海港與古鎮學習。
