On March 16, 2026, Dajuang Elementary School teamed up with Dayeh University for a special disaster prevention workshop. Led by Professor Chou, students learned about safety through fun science games. They made "water tornadoes" in bottles to understand how whirlpools work and learned how to stay safe during floods. They also played a rope escape game to learn about friction and rescue skills.
Principal Lyu said that the school works hard to teach students about safety and science. By working with the university, the school creates many interesting lessons every year. This program helps children understand how to protect themselves and their community. Through these hands-on activities, our students are becoming smart "Safety Heroes" who know how to stay safe and help others!

115年3月16日，大莊國小與大葉大學環境與安全工程學系合作舉辦「防災遊學團」，在周中祺主任的帶領下，將嚴肅的防災知識轉化為趣味科學實驗。活動結合在地濁水溪與刺仔埤圳的水域環境，讓學生動手製作「水龍捲」，觀察漩渦原理並連結水災防範觀念。此外，透過繩索逃生遊戲學習摩擦力應用，讓孩子在實作中掌握關鍵的避難技能，學習過程生動且富有意義。
呂彥億校長表示，學校長期將防災教育列為發展重點，並與大葉大學保持緊密的合作關係。透過每年舉辦的防災營隊與創新教案，學生不僅能從生活情境中理解科學，更培養出紮實的防災素養。這項獲得國科會補助的計畫，成功將永續觀念植入校園，讓大莊的孩子們在遊戲中成長，成為守護社區安全的新一代防災小尖兵。
