A small school with a big heart in Changhua's farming village
Tuku Village sits at the heart of Zhutang Township — a place shaped by the Zhuoshui River, home to thriving wetlands, migratory birds, and generations of Hakka families. Founded in 1958, Tuku Elementary is a close-knit school where children of different grades often learn side by side — a small community, growing together.
The name Tuku traces back to early settlers — some say from the earthen storehouses built by the first villagers; others from the low, muddy farmland that clung to workers' clothes. Whatever its origin, Tuku is a community rooted in the land — and so is our school.
Our reading program has been honored with the Ministry of Education's Reading Cornerstone Award, one of Taiwan's top recognitions for school-wide reading culture — drawing families from beyond our district to join the Tuku community.
土庫村位於竹塘鄉的中心地帶，緊鄰濁水溪，擁有豐富的高灘濕地與候鳥棲息地，也是彰化客家文化的重要聚落。土庫國小創校於民國 47 年（1958 年），是一所小而緊密的學校，不同年級的孩子經常互相扶持、一起學習成長。
「土庫」地名的由來，有一說是早期居民的土造倉庫，另一說是地勢低窪泥濘、農作時泥土常沾滿褲子而得名。無論如何，土庫是一個紮根於土地的社區——我們的學校也是。
本校的閱讀課程榮獲教育部「閱讀磐石獎」的肯定——這是全國學校閱讀推動的最高榮譽之一，也吸引許多外學區的家庭跨區前來就讀。
