Swimming races are exciting! In a race, each swimmer has their own lane. The race starts when the teacher blows the whistle. Swimmers push off the wall and swim as fast as they can. A lap means swimming from one end of the pool to the other. In our school pool, two laps equal 50 meters. A timer records how fast each swimmer goes. When you touch the wall at the end, you have finished! The fastest swimmer becomes the champion. Some champions even break school records! At Tai-He Elementary School, racing helps students improve and build confidence. Everyone can win if they try their best!
