On August 24, Principal Li Ming-chao signed an Academic Partnership Agreement on Transitional Justice and Human Rights Education on behalf of Sihu with National Chung Hsing University. The two schools will draw on local history, community expertise and museum collections, sharing resources between university and high school through coursework, teaching materials, walking tours, exhibitions, lectures and forums. More than a dozen elementary, junior high and senior high schools from the Changhua–Taichung–Nantou area signed on the same day.
Meeting a top university, the Principal said, is an important chance for Sihu's teachers and students to grow. Through the school's quality-improvement programme, teachers in Civics and Social Studies have already led students on visits and walking tours to the National Human Rights Museum and related memorial sites, building a genuine respect for human rights that carries into daily life.
The platform, Principal Li added, is very good news for high schools across central Taiwan: he hopes National Chung Hsing University can rally a community of teachers to co-develop lesson plans, sharpen professional skills, and in time open electives that guide students toward self-directed learning and independent research.
