This week our youngest students started school. On the first day, each new first-grader wrote a "wish card" and hung it on the Wish Tree in the classroom — a small wish that showed just how big a Shuiwei child's imagination can be. Step by step, the children will chase those dreams and build a future.

The first-graders also enjoyed their very first school lunch — Vermont-style curry chicken, tuna "clever" egg, a Japanese-style stew, organic cabbage, winter-melon and pork-rib soup, and dragon fruit. School is a place for learning, the principal told them; take it to heart, learn all you can, and the you of the future will become a child that people are glad to know.
