Shuiwei Elementary School sits among the rice fields of Sijhou Township, Changhua. It is a small but closely-knit school, where students and teachers look after one another like family, and where every child is helped to discover what they are good at.
水尾國小坐落在彰化縣溪州鄉的田野之間，是一所小而溫馨、充滿凝聚力的學校。在這裡，師生像家人一樣互相關心，也用心陪伴每一位孩子找到自己的長處。
Our work grows out of one idea — “live well here, learn well here, let Shuiwei shine.” From it we have built four key learning areas, three signature programmes of our own, and a school spirit we call YOUNG: our hope that every Shuiwei child becomes a young green gem in the middle of the fields.

To help students grow, we focus on four things.

Learning about the plants and animals around us, and how to protect the environment we share — from the old trees on campus to the fields and waterways of Sijhou. 認識身邊的植物與動物，學習如何愛護我們共同的環境——從校園裡的老樹，到溪州的田園與水圳。
Staying active, eating well and building a positive mind — on the running track, the sports field and the playground that ring our campus. 養成運動習慣、吃得健康、保持正向的心——在環繞校園的跑道、操場與遊戲場上。
Understanding different cultures and widening the way we see the world, so a small village school opens onto a much bigger place. 認識不同的文化，拓展看世界的方式，讓一所鄉間小校，通往更寬廣的天地。
Expressing ideas through art, music and hands-on projects — the murals along our corridors are painted by the children themselves. 透過藝術、音樂與實作課程表達自己——走廊上的壁畫，就是孩子們親手畫的。
Learning designed to be local, and to be fun.

Purple Scallions takes students out to explore the local plants of Sijhou and the culture that has grown up around them. Love for Arts nurtures creativity through music, dance and craft. The Three Treasures of Shuiwei introduces children to the school’s own traditions and the story of the place they live — so that learning here always keeps its feet on Shuiwei ground.
紫蘿蔥帶孩子走出教室，認識溪州的在地植物與其中的文化。愛玩藝透過音樂、舞蹈與手作，培養創造力。三寶 YOUNG 水尾則讓孩子認識學校的特色傳統與家鄉的故事——讓水尾的學習，永遠踏在水尾的土地上。

At Shuiwei, students grow with a YOUNG spirit — and we hope every child leaves us able to sense, observe, cooperate, express, explore and practise: six abilities to carry with them for life.
