Founded in 1952, Nanya Elementary School sits at the picturesque foothills of the Bagua Mountain range, where Shetou Township meets Yuanlin City. Around 180 students learn here, in a quiet country school surrounded by guava, lychee and longan orchards, with the historic Yuemei Pond and Fangshan Hall close by.
創校於 1952 年的湳雅國小，座落於八卦山脈秀麗的山麓，位在社頭鄉東緣與員林市的交界處。全校約 180 名學生，居民以務農及勞工為主，生活簡樸、熱情洋溢；學區出產芭樂、荔枝、龍眼，鄰近月眉池、芳山堂等歷史古蹟。

Because the school lies on the rural edge of Shetou, its grounds are calm and leafy, and its ecology is unusually rich. Nanya has taken landscaping and environmental sustainability seriously for years — shaded walkways, flowering shrubs and a schoolyard planted from corner to corner.
因為位於社頭郊區，校園環境清幽、花木扶疏，生態相當豐富。多年來，本校在綠美化工作與環境永續的推動上做得相當徹底——綠蔭步道、扶疏花木，把整座校園從裡到外種成一片綠意。

A MOE Character-Education Feature School — everyday habits of honesty, respect and responsibility. 教育部品德教育特色學校，培養「好學有品」的湳雅人。
A MOE Reading Rock School, a "Books for Love" borrowing-honour school, with a book-train library and a mobile-library link to the wider county. 教育部閱讀磐石學校、「愛的書庫」借閱績優學校。
A nationally certified Health-Promoting School (Silver) and, since 2023, a Changhua Health-Promotion "Setting Sail" school. 健康促進國際認證銀質獎，112 年通過彰化縣健康促進啟航學校認證。
Our signature performing group — drums and rhythm built from recycled materials, taking care of the environment and the beat at the same time. 本校特色團隊，以回收材料製鼓，一邊愛護環境、一邊打出節奏。
Before 1948, children from Nanya had to walk a long way to Chaoxing Public School. After local families petitioned for a school of their own, a Nanya teaching class opened in the Nanya assembly hall in September 1948, its two classrooms divided by wooden boards. It became a branch campus in 1950, and on 15 August 1952 it was made independent as Nanya Elementary School, with Hsiao Chin-chang as its first principal.
1948 年以前，湳雅的孩子必須到較遠的朝興國民學校就學。在地方人士爭取下，1948 年 9 月利用湳雅集會所、以木板隔成兩間教室，開辦朝興國民學校湳雅分班；1950 年改為朝興國校湳雅分校；1952 年 8 月 15 日正式獨立為「彰化縣社頭鄉湳雅國民學校」，首任校長為蕭金章先生。
The site began as a field of water-bamboo shoots. Township head Hsiao Hsi-ling, Principal Hsiao Chin-chang and association chair Cheng Ching-sheng rallied soldiers and villagers to work together — the army hauling earth by truck, the villagers by carrying-basket — to fill the soft ground into firm land, and to build a 200-metre standard track and the classrooms. In 1968, with the move to nine-year compulsory education, the school took its present name, Nanya Elementary School.
建校初期，校地是一片茭白筍園。當時蕭錫齡鄉長、蕭金章校長與鄭景盛會長發動軍民大合作的義務勞動——軍方用卡車、民方用畚箕——把軟弱的土壤填為堅固校地，完成 200 公尺標準跑道的大操場與教室用地。1968 年因實施九年國民教育，校名改稱「湳雅國民小學」，沿用至今。
