In 2019, an American friend named Grandpa Mike came all the way to Jhonghe to teach our children English — and we have kept the film of his visit ever since. 2019 年，一位美國朋友「麥克爺爺」遠道而來，到中和國小教孩子們英語。這段訪問影片，我們一直珍藏至今。

Grandpa Mike — Michael Dishnow — was a retired American educator who flew to Taiwan at his own expense, again and again, simply to teach English to children in Changhua. Working alongside My Culture Connect (人師教育協會) and the Changhua English Resource Center, he spent 2019 touring the county school by school. This was his stop at Jhonghe. 麥克爺爺（Michael Dishnow）是一位退休的美國教育工作者。他一次又一次自費飛來台灣，只為了教彰化的孩子們英語。2019 年，他與人師教育協會及彰化縣英語資源中心合作，一所一所地走訪全縣校園——這是他來到中和國小的這一站。
He did not bring a textbook so much as a way of being: patient, warm, and endlessly curious about the children in front of him. For many of our students, Grandpa Mike was the first native English speaker they had ever spoken with face to face — proof that the language they practice in class can carry them all the way to a new friend from the other side of the world. 他帶來的與其說是課本，不如說是一種待人的方式：有耐心、溫暖，並且對眼前的每個孩子充滿好奇。對許多學生而言，麥克爺爺是他們第一位面對面交談的母語英語人士——這證明了課堂上練習的英語，真的能把他們帶向一位來自世界另一端的新朋友。
Grandpa Mike passed away in 2025. We share this short film in his memory — for the smiles he gave our children, and for every mile he traveled to reach them. 麥克爺爺已於 2025 年辭世。我們分享這段短片以茲懷念——感謝他帶給孩子們的笑容，也感謝他為了見到他們所走過的每一哩路。
