從一間路口厝的教室，到一所即將迎接百年的偏鄉小校。
In the spring of 1921, four local elders — Zhang Qingfeng, Zhang Si, Cai Youcai, and Fu Zhongzhou — pooled funds to build a school on land donated by Zhang Qingfeng himself: 2.1128 jiǎ of paddy field, two classrooms, one outhouse. On April 1, 1926, the branch class became an independent school named Lukouchu Public School — Lukouchu, "the homestead at the crossroads," is still the old Taiwanese name for this place. 民國 10 年春，地方仕紳張清風、張賜、蔡有財、傅仲周四位先生發起捐資興學，由張清風先生捐出 2.1128 甲校地，募日圓 1700 圓建教室 2 間、廁所 1 棟。民國 15 年 4 月 1 日正式獨立為「路口厝公學校」——「路口厝」是這片土地的台語舊地名，意為「路口的聚落」。
Today the school sits at the southern edge of Pitou, looking across the Zhuoshui River toward Xiluo. The land is still farmland, and the families are still mostly farmers — but the children play the recorder, run the track, and meet international visitors in English. 學校位於埤頭鄉南端，與西螺隔濁水溪相望。學區家長以農為主，民風純樸——但孩子吹直笛、跑田徑、用英語接待國際嘉賓。
