Hsiushui Junior High School sits in Xiushui Township, in the heart of Changhua County. Step onto our campus and you will see tall royal palms lined up along a bright red running track, and big blue-and-green shade canopies stretched over the courts, so students can play and practice out of the hot sun.
秀水國中位於彰化縣秀水鄉。走進校園，高大的大王椰子沿著紅色跑道一字排開，球場上方搭起藍綠相間的遮陽棚，讓學生不怕烈日、盡情運動。
With the care of our principal and the hard work of every teacher and student, Hsiushui has a fine school spirit and keeps moving forward, earning the support of education leaders and our local community. Over the years the school has built several strengths of its own: information technology education, science education, our track and field team, and the arts.

Hsiushui Junior High’s story begins in 1962. On October 23, 1967, the school was officially named Changhua County Hsiushui Junior Middle School, and that date is still remembered every year as our Founding Day. When Taiwan introduced nine-year compulsory education, it became Changhua County Hsiushui Junior High School, and in 1978 it opened a supplementary school so that adults in the community could keep learning too.
本校於民國五十一年成立，至民國五十六年十月二十三日，正式命名為「彰化縣立秀水初級中學」，為紀念此一特殊日期，特定此日為本校創校紀念日。施行九年國民教育後，改制為「彰化縣立秀水國民中學」；民國六十七年增辦附設補習學校，提供民眾進修機會。

Junior high is a time to try things out. In hands-on technical arts and career exploration courses, Hsiushui students step into real kitchens and workshops — cooking, baking, wiring, fixing scooters and running a shop counter — to discover what they enjoy and what they are good at.
國中是探索的階段。透過技藝教育與職業探索課程，秀中學生走進專業廚房與工作坊——烹飪、烘焙、配線、修機車、站上收銀台——在動手做中發現自己的興趣與長處。
Traditional music, recorders and dance — many ways to perform.
傳統音樂、直笛與舞蹈——站上舞台的方式有很多種。
Hsiushui students keep traditional Taiwanese music alive: our Nanbeiguan (南北管) ensemble has taken the stage at the National Student Nanbeiguan Music Competition in both the 2024–25 and 2025–26 school years. Our recorder ensemble performs in the concert hall, and at Xiushui’s 2025 Christmas Carnival our dancers lit up the stage.
秀中學子傳承傳統音樂：南北管樂團連續站上 113、114 學年度全國學生南北管音樂比賽的舞台；直笛團在音樂廳裡演奏，舞蹈隊更在 2025 秀水聖誕嘉年華的舞台上熱力演出。

On the court, at the microphone and out in the wider world — Hsiushui students find their own stage. Our basketball players bring home trophies, our students speak Taiwan’s local languages in the county speech arts contest, and others join Changhua County’s international education study program to embrace the world.
