In the morning light, the reading walk began. Thanks to funding from the Confucian-Forest Lions Club, Houliao's senior-grade children set out — with President Li Mei-li and six Lions members walking alongside them like guides, a warm attention that became the loveliest light in the children's hearts.
When the pages walk out of the classroom, children gain the courage to face the world.
The first stop was the main branch of the Tainan Public Library, where walls of books poured down like a waterfall and every floor held a new surprise. Then the children wandered Anping Old Street, where red-brick lanes whisper the secrets of time and stone paths recall the memory of the harbour — history became something you could touch. Finally, beneath the dome of the Chimei Museum, the sculptures seemed to glow under the children's gaze.
Thanks to Director Fu and teachers Shang-lin, Yu-ren and Jun-jie for their care and guidance. This was more than a visit — it linked the words in books to the real ground beneath the children's feet, turning reading into an adventure with warmth. When the pages walk out of the classroom and the view stretches to the horizon, children gain the courage to face the world.
