Between a cold morning in January and a punishing hot afternoon at the end of May, the Dacheng track and field team went to three meets: their county championship, the national championships, and their own city’s games. They came home from all three with something.
January · the county meet
The Changhua County Combined Athletic Meet for Schools opened on January 27 and ran four days, with 220 elementary, junior high and senior high schools and 3,234 athletes and officials taking part. Dacheng finished sixth overall in the senior boys’ track standings.
In the individual events our athletes took second in the 200 meters, fifth in the long jump, sixth in the 100 meters and eighth in the high jump, with an eighth place in the girls’ high jump as well. Both the 4×100 and the 4×200 relay squads placed sixth. And one sixth-grader earned something else: the right to represent Changhua County at the national championships.
May · the national championships
He took that place. On May 13 and 14, at the 2026 National Elementary School Track and Field Championships, he ran in the mixed 12×100-meter team relay and came home fifth in the country.
The end of May · the city games
Then came the Changhua City Games on May 30 and 31. Dacheng’s athletes placed in eleven events between them and finished third overall in both the boys’ and the girls’ team track standings.
It was brutally hot that day. Parents came anyway — stood at the rail, shouted themselves hoarse, and pressed cold drinks into the runners’ hands between events. The principal and Director Shih (石主任) came to watch too.
And behind all three meets stood the same two teachers, Lin Chih-an (林芷安) and Lin Chao-jui (林昭睿), who trained the squad, traveled with them, and waited at the finish line.
What the placings do not show
Placings matter. What matters more is what the children showed on the way to them: the nerve to take on someone faster, and the refusal to stop. Every take-off, every sprint, every handover of the baton was teamwork and stubbornness made visible.
從一月到五月底，大成田徑隊連續站上三個賽場：縣聯運、全國賽，以及自家的市民運動大會，三場都有收穫。
一月 · 彰化縣 115 年中小學聯合運動會
賽事自 1 月 27 日展開，一連四天，全縣 220 所國中小及高中職學校、3,234 名隊職員參與。本校榮獲小男甲田徑總錦標第六名；個人項目方面，200 公尺第二名、跳遠第五名、100 公尺第六名、跳高第八名，女生組跳高第八名；小男甲 4×100 與 4×200 接力雙雙拿下第六名。其中一位六年級選手更獲選代表彰化縣參加全國賽。
五月 · 115 年全國小學田徑錦標賽
5 月 13 日至 14 日，那位取得資格的選手站上全國賽場，在國小混合 12×100 大隊接力拿下全國第五名。
五月底 · 115 年彰化市民運動大會
5 月 30 日至 31 日，隊員們秉持平日扎實訓練精神，在賽場上全力以赴、奮勇拚搏，展現優異的運動家風範與團隊合作精神。最終榮獲國小男子組團體徑賽總錦標第三名及國小女子組團體徑賽總錦標第三名，另有十一項個人與接力名次。
比賽當天雖然天氣酷熱，仍有許多家長親臨現場為孩子們加油打氣，並貼心準備飲料為選手補充體力，讓孩子們感受到滿滿的支持與鼓勵。同時，也感謝校長及石主任在百忙之中到場關心與勉勵，為選手們注入更多信心。更要感謝林芷安老師與林昭睿老師長期以來的用心指導與辛勤付出，讓田徑隊持續成長並締造佳績。
這幾場比賽不僅展現了同學們平日刻苦訓練的成果，更看見大家在賽場上勇於挑戰自我、永不放棄的運動家精神。每一次起跳、每一次衝刺、每一次接力，都是團隊合作與毅力的最佳表現。名次固然重要，但過程中的努力與成長更值得肯定。期許大成田徑隊持續保持熱情與信心，從比賽中累積經驗，突破自我。
