Welcome to Dacheng Junior High School, founded in 1964 as the only junior high in Dacheng Township at the southwestern tip of Changhua County. Our students arrive from the three elementary schools that share the township — Dacheng, Sigang, and Meifeng — and spend three years with us before fanning out to senior highs across Changhua and central Taiwan.
大城國中於 1964 年正式設校，是大城鄉唯一一所國中，學生來自鄉內三所國小——大城國小、西港國小、美豐國小。三年國中時光後，他們會升學到彰化各高中職、邁向更廣的世界。
We sit where the wind from the Taiwan Strait meets the end of the Choshui River — what the school's own description calls "a place at the head of the wind and the tail of the water." The geography is honest about who we are: a coastal-rural school that does not pretend to be a city-centre prep academy. What we are is a school that gives every child more than one path forward — academic, vocational, and humanistic, all at the same school gate.
我們所在的位置，是台灣海峽季風的最前沿、濁水溪水的最末端——學校自我描述為「風頭水尾的地方」。地理坦白地說出我們是誰：一所沿海偏鄉學校，不假裝是市中心明星校。但我們做到了一件事——讓每個孩子都有不只一條路可以走，學科、技藝、人文同時在這座校門裡。

我們不追逐單一亮眼指標，而是以三條相互平行的承諾為錨——每一條都對應「我們在哪裡」與「我們的孩子是誰」這兩個真實的問題。
Most junior highs in Taiwan funnel every student toward the same senior-high entrance exam. Dacheng made a different choice. Since 2017, we have run our own vocational electrical-arts program in-house — indoor wiring, electronic applications, painting and decoration — for ninth-graders whose hands are smarter than the standard textbook gives them credit for. They learn with industry-standard tools, sit county and national skills competitions, and bring home placements. It is the most concrete answer Dacheng has to the question: "What if my child does not want to take the same road as everyone else?" 台灣絕大多數的國中，把所有學生都導向同一條「會考升學」的路。大城選擇不同。自 2017 年起，我們自辦水電技藝班——室內配線、電子應用、漆作裝潢——給那些「手比書本聰明」的九年級孩子。他們用業界規格的工具學習，下場參加縣賽與全國技能競賽，並名列前茅。對於「如果我的孩子不想跟大家走同一條路」這個問題，水電技藝班是大城最具體的回答。
