The long-awaited Summer Fun Learning program opened today! For the next two full weeks, a rich and playful curriculum will keep our children busy, curious and happy. The very first morning was already buzzing: students listened intently as teachers introduced the “Tell Everyone Who I Am” self-introduction activity, then rolled up their sleeves for hands-on tangram puzzles — every child showing wonderful focus and sparks of creativity. A few friendly reminders: come to school on time, because a brand-new experience waits each day; bring a water bottle and drink plenty of water in this hot weather. See you on campus at Beidou Elementary!

大家期待已久的「夏日樂學」今天正式登場！接下來的整整兩個星期，學校安排了超豐富又有趣的課程，要陪孩子們度過一個充實又快樂的暑假。今天一開始現場就熱鬧非凡：小朋友們聚精會神地聽老師解說「告訴大家我是誰」自我介紹，接著動手玩七巧板益智拼貼，每個人都展現滿滿的專注力與創意亮點！也貼心提醒大家——每天都有不一樣的新體驗，記得準時到校；天氣炎熱，請小朋友隨身攜帶水壺，多多補充水分。地點：彰化縣北斗鎮北斗國民小學。

Thank you to every child who came to the tryout for the Beidou Elementary pickleball team, and to the parents who stayed to cheer them on. We saw nervous, hopeful faces: some children swung that very first shot with trembling hands, others practised again and again, working up a sweat as they pushed past their own limits. The strokes were not always polished and the paddle did not always cooperate — but every picture of a child trying hard was genuinely moving, because what we were looking at was never just “can you play”; it was the courage to try, the willingness to work, and the readiness to take on a challenge. Because of limits on courts, equipment and coaching staff, this year’s team will take 18 players. To those not selected: please don’t be discouraged. One tryout cannot measure your effort or your potential — stepping onto the court, picking up the paddle and challenging yourself is already something wonderful. There will be another tryout next year, and we look forward to seeing you back on court with even more confidence. “Bravely swinging that first shot is the most beautiful beginning of growth.”

感謝今天每一位來參加 115 學年度北斗國小匹克球隊甄選的小朋友，也謝謝一路陪伴、到場為孩子加油打氣的家長們！今天的甄選過程中，我們看見孩子們緊張又期待的模樣：有些小朋友戰戰兢兢地揮出第一拍，有些孩子一次又一次地練習，在球場上揮汗如雨、努力突破自己。也許動作還不夠熟練、球拍還有些不聽話，但那一幕幕認真練習的畫面，真的令人感動——因為我們看見的，不只是「會不會打球」，而是孩子願意勇敢嘗試、願意努力、願意接受挑戰的態度。今年因場地、器材及師資等條件有限，經整體考量後，115 學年度匹克球隊將錄取 18 名隊員。沒有錄取的小朋友請不要氣餒！一次甄選的結果，並不能決定你的努力與潛力；今天你踏上球場、拿起球拍、勇敢挑戰自己，就已經是一件很棒的事情。明年學校還會辦理甄選，期待帶著更多自信與進步的你，再一次回到球場挑戰自己——「勇敢揮出第一拍，就是成長最美好的開始！」

Time flies — after several weeks, the College Youth Summer Work Camp reached its final day. Looking back, the campus was filled with energy and laughter every single day, because these warm-hearted college “big brothers and sisters” gave our Beidou children a summer that was full and unforgettable. Study met play: the students turned dry school subjects into board games and digital activities, so children absorbed new knowledge while having fun. Sweat met sunshine: everyone stretched, moved and built team spirit outdoors, and every smiling face spoke of healthy growth. And above all there was companionship: whether answering a question about homework or simply listening during a break, the volunteers were endlessly patient and kind, becoming the friends our children admired and trusted most. On behalf of all the students, staff and families of Beidou Elementary, thank you for giving our children a summer of laughter and learning. We wish you every success on the road ahead.

時光飛逝，為期數週的「大專青年學生暑期校園工讀營隊」在今天迎來最後一天。回首這段日子，校園裡每天都充滿活力與歡笑，因為有這群熱血大專生哥哥姊姊的陪伴，讓北斗寶貝們度過了一個極其充實又難忘的夏天！回顧這些日子的精彩點滴——課業與趣味並重：哥哥姊姊們發揮創意，把原本枯燥的學科變成趣味十足的桌遊與數位互動，讓孩子在遊戲中快樂吸收新知；揮灑汗水與活力：大家一起在陽光下伸展肢體、培養團隊默契，每一張笑臉都代表著健康的成長；溫暖貼心的陪伴：無論是課業上的疑惑解答，還是下課時的傾聽與聊天，大哥哥大姊姊們總是極具耐心與愛心，成為孩子們最崇拜、最信任的好夥伴。在此謹代表北斗國小全體師生與家長，向這群辛勤付出的大專青年致上最深切的感謝！謝謝你們用青春與熱情，為孩子們打造充滿歡笑與收穫的夏日記憶，學校點滴在心頭；也祝福各位在未來的學業與人生道路上順風順水、光芒萬丈。

Our most popular foreign teacher, Ms. Anna, wrapped up a joyful six-day English Summer Camp last Friday. For six days the campus was filled with children's laughter and confident English conversation. Rather than memorizing vocabulary at their desks, students learned English through hands-on, cross-curricular activities: they became little scientists — shaping clay volcanoes and following a chemical "eruption" entirely in English — and even made Pastillas de Leche, a traditional Filipino milk candy, mixing and kneading along to English steps on the screen. Thank you, Ms. Anna, and every enthusiastic camper — keep this curiosity and love of English alive!

上週五，本校最受歡迎的外師 Anna 老師帶領的「六天英語夏令營」圓滿落幕！這六天裡，校園總是充滿孩子們的歡笑聲與自信的英文對話。Anna 老師精心設計了跨領域素養課程，把語言學習融入動手做的體驗：孩子們化身小小科學家，用黏土捏出火山模型，並用全英文理解化學反應；還挑戰製作菲律賓傳統甜點 Pastillas de Leche（牛奶糖），一邊看著投影幕上的英文步驟，一邊親手揉出甜蜜的滋味。謝謝 Anna 老師的用心，也謝謝每一位熱情參與的孩子——在英文學習的路上，繼續保持這份好奇心與熱情！

The much-anticipated College Youth Summer Camp opened last week! It was heart-warming to hear the campus fill with children's laughter once again. These energetic college "big brothers and sisters" brought a burst of youthful energy to our summer campus, designing a rich program that balanced sports and study — so every child's summer is time well spent, looking forward to school each day.

期待已久的「大專青年學生暑期校園工讀營隊」上週登場！看著校園再度充滿孩子們的歡笑聲，心情也跟著亮了起來。這群充滿活力與熱情的大哥哥、大姊姊們，為夏日校園注入滿滿的青春能量，也為北斗國小的孩子們設計了充實又文武雙全的暑期營隊，讓大家的暑假不留白，天天都期待來學校上課！

Summer break had only just begun, but Beidou's teachers were already hard at work! On the school-wide preparation day on July 1, teachers gathered to share the school-based curriculum themes and professional-community achievements they had designed for each grade — getting ready for a great new school year.

暑假才剛開始，北斗國小的老師們可沒有停下腳步！在 7 月 1 日的全校備課日，老師們齊聚一堂，熱情分享各年級精心設計的「校本課程主題與社群成果」，為新學年的教學做好準備。

Under the theme "Brave Adventures, a Youth Without Regrets," Beidou Elementary and its affiliated kindergarten held a warm and joyful graduation ceremony. From the presentation of diplomas and scholarships to blessings from younger students, heartfelt speeches, and the singing of the school song, every moment was moving — and the string, dance, and music performances showed the confidence and many talents of Beidou's children. Thank you to county officials, the local community, the Parents' Association, and every family who attended. May our graduates move forward with gratitude, chase their dreams bravely, and soar on the journey ahead.

北斗國民小學暨附設幼兒園「勇敢冒險 青春不留白」畢業典禮，在溫馨與歡樂中圓滿落幕。從頒發畢業證書、各項獎學金，到在校生祝福、畢業生感恩致詞與校歌傳唱，每個環節都充滿感動；穿插的弦樂、舞蹈與音樂表演，更展現北斗孩子多元學習的成果與自信風采。感謝縣府長官、地方各界、家長會與所有到場的家長——願孩子們懷抱感恩、勇敢逐夢，在未來的旅程中展翅高飛。

Our heartfelt thanks to alumnus Mr. Yang Feng-lu for his generous donation, which helped the school add multimedia equipment and books to the library's presentation space. Beyond reading, storytelling, and multimedia teaching, the space now doubles as an indoor venue for P.E., movement, and group activities on rainy days — and, with a large display, for video lessons, online talks, and digital learning. One act of kindness has not only enriched our reading environment but given our children a more complete and flexible space to learn. Thank you, Mr. Yang, for your care and support for your alma mater.

感謝本校校友楊豐祿先生慷慨捐贈經費，協助學校增置圖書室展演空間的多媒體設備與圖書資源。這處空間除了供學生閱讀、說故事及多媒體教學使用，遇天候不佳時還可作為室內體育、律動與團體活動空間；結合大型顯示設備後，更能辦理視訊教學、線上講座與數位學習課程。一份善意，不只豐富了閱讀環境，更讓孩子擁有更完善、更具彈性的學習空間。感謝楊豐祿先生對母校的關懷與支持，嘉惠學子。

Congratulations to our sixth-grade team, whose outstanding performance won First Place in the county at the Changhua Traffic-Safety Radio Drama competition! After weeks of practice, the children used lively voices and wonderful teamwork to turn road-safety knowledge into a fun radio story — revealing the hidden dangers of a large vehicle's blind spots and turning path. Thank you to their teacher for the dedication, and cheers to our little "radio stars"! Their recording later aired on Kuo Sheng Radio, inviting everyone to learn traffic safety and get home safe.

恭喜本校六年級團隊參加「彰化縣交通安全教育廣播劇」比賽，以出色的表現榮獲全縣冠軍！孩子們在準備期間反覆練習，用生動的聲音表情與絕佳默契，把交通安全知識化為精彩有趣的廣播故事，破解大型車「內輪差」與「視野死角」的隱形危機。感謝老師的用心付出，也讓我們一起為這群「廣播小達人」按讚喝采！錄音作品後續也在國聲廣播電台播出，邀請大家一起開心學交安、出門保平安。

With a loud gong, Beidou Elementary opened its second-hand charity fair. Students ran booths filled with toys, school supplies, and daily items — and a special highlight was the English-speaking booths run by foreign teachers, where every transaction was in English. The proceeds were donated to World Vision, and the Parent Association sold gift boxes to support students in need.

隨著一聲響亮的鑼聲，北斗國小的二手愛心義賣市集熱鬧開幕。學生經營著擺滿玩具、文具與日常用品的攤位，特別亮點是外師負責的英語攤位，所有交易都以英語完成。義賣所得捐給世界展望會，家長會也販售禮盒為弱勢學生籌款。

Beidou Elementary earned Silver Certification in the Taiwan-American Eco-School Initiative in 2024, recognizing its work in sustainable food, waste reduction, and hands-on environmental education — a model for other schools to follow.

北斗國小於 2024 年獲得臺美生態學校銀牌認證，表彰學校在永續食物、廢棄物減量與實作環境教育上的努力，成為其他學校學習的典範。

A food-and-agriculture education team from Pingtung visited Beidou Elementary to exchange ideas on farm-to-table learning — sharing how schools can connect students with where their food comes from.

來自屏東的食農教育團隊參訪北斗國小，交流「從農場到餐桌」的學習經驗，分享學校如何讓學生認識食物的來源。

Beidou Elementary celebrated Christmas Eve during the big recess with a joyful flash mob prepared by the students. Santa Claus — played by members of the Parent Association — and little Santa helpers handed out chocolate treats, bringing laughter and warmth to the whole school.

北斗國小在大下課時間以學生精心準備的快閃表演歡慶平安夜。由家長會扮演的聖誕老人與小聖誕幫手們發送巧克力，為全校帶來歡笑與溫暖。

Beidou students took part in the National Student Picture-Book Creation Award, telling their own stories through words and illustrations — a celebration of creativity, reading, and bilingual storytelling.

北斗學生參加全國學生圖畫書創作獎，用文字與插畫說出自己的故事——展現創意、閱讀與雙語敘事的成果。

Students learned to turn used cooking oil into eco-friendly soap — a hands-on lesson in recycling that shows how everyday waste can become something useful again.

學生學習把回收的廚餘油製成環保皂——一堂從做中學的回收課，讓孩子看見日常廢棄物如何再次變得有用。
