A century-old school is not a museum. It is a promise, carried from one principal to the next.
19th Principal
"A century-old school is not a museum. It is a promise — that every child who walks in today walks into a story already a hundred years long, and walks out adding a chapter of their own."
In May 2026, education voice Dom Jones visited Wansing to speak with Principal Wu Kuei-chih and see the campus firsthand — part of the "Voices in Education" interview series.

Wansing keeps its own ledger of principals with unusual care. It began as a sub-class of Erlin Public School in 1919, and became its own school — Wansing Public School — in 1924, under founding principal Kakihara Keiroku. What follows is the documented succession, drawn from the school's official chronicle, up through the mid-2000s, and carried forward to today's 19th principal, Wu Kuei-chih.
Educators, parents, and friends are warmly welcome to visit Wansing Elementary — to see a century-old campus that still tells its own story, one principal at a time.
