On July 27, incoming first-year students set out on a walking tour of Lugang, visiting the national heritage site Longshan Temple and the historic Lugang Old Street. Wandering through the antique red-brick lanes, students truly experienced what it means to take "one step, one heritage site" — feeling the weight of history and the beauty of local aesthetics with every step.
Life itself is the classroom, and the local is the international.

A special thank you to teacher Shih Shu-Ling for her expert and lively guided tour along the way, weaving together rich historical stories and cultural meaning.

We are also deeply grateful to the teams at Shih-Yi House and Shih-Yi Tea Tasting for generously offering a comfortable place to rest and refined local tea and snacks.

Through this cross-domain walking tour that combined a bilingual setting with cultural practice, students not only broadened their learning horizons, but also — through immersive experience — deepened their identification with and love for their hometown. Well done!
