Named after an ode of hospitality from the Book of Odes, Lu Ming Junior High has called the historic town of Lugang home since 1973.
取名自詩經《鹿鳴》篇，鹿鳴國中自民國 62 年設校以來，深耕鹿港這座歷史古鎮。
Lu Ming Junior High School was established in 1973 (Minguo 62), taking its name from the Lu Ming ode of the ancient Chinese Book of Odes (詩經) — a poem about deer calling to one another as they graze, welcoming honored guests to a shared feast. Through the work of generations of principals, teachers, and local patrons, the school has steadily grown into a well-rounded campus known for both academic strength and a rich school life. Each grade level maintains one music class, centered on Chinese orchestra, and one PE class, specializing in judo, track & field, and table tennis.
本校於民國 62 年，根據詩經鹿鳴篇，定名為「彰化縣立鹿鳴國民中學」。鹿鳴國中迭經歷任校長師長擘劃運籌，鄉里仕紳贊襄資助，學校規模漸次完備，不論在課業升學或軟硬體建設上，表現令人激賞，學子優秀傑出。本校各年級設有音樂班（以國樂為主）和體育班（柔道、田徑和桌球專長）各一班。

Lu Ming has built a full bilingual teaching environment — rotating foreign teachers, ETAs (English Teaching Assistants), FETs (Foreign English Teachers), and the Teachers On The Go project bring native-speaking instruction into the classroom, alongside the Tutor JR online course, a structured English reading curriculum, and a summer English camp.
