This summer's cross-domain English camp brought language and art together in one classroom. Guided by their teacher, students painted iconic images of Lugang's culture — from Longshan Temple to Mazu — onto their own paddles, turning each one into a small piece of hometown pride.
The more they paint their home, the more they understand it.

Beyond deepening their sense of local identity, the project gave students a global perspective — learning to market their hometown in English. It also connects directly to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), helping children treasure historical heritage through hands-on practice and plant the idea of sustainability firmly in their hearts.

A special thank you to teacher Chen Jing-Yi for designing a course that thoughtfully weaves English together with local culture — enriching students' diverse performance and growth!
