On June 25, Kuaiguan Elementary invited beekeeping expert Mr. Chang Yung-kun to visit the campus and share his knowledge with students, leading them into the world of bees — from how a hive works to how honey is actually made.
Mr. Chang explained the vital role bees play in nature, pollinating plants and keeping ecosystems healthy, while students gathered close to see real honeycomb frames pulled straight from a hive.
Behind every drop of honey is real, hard work — and now the children understand it firsthand.

Students got hands-on, too. Using a traditional shoulder pole, they took turns carrying heavy beehive boxes just as real beekeepers do, feeling for themselves how physically demanding the job can be.

The visit ended on a sweet note — literally — as students sipped ice-cold, fragrant honey water, a refreshing reward after a morning of learning. Between the expert's explanations and the hands-on experience, children left with a much deeper appreciation for the bees, and the beekeepers, that bring honey to our tables.
