More Than Kicks and Punches: What Taekwondo Really Teaches

March 16, 2026 · 115/3/16

Taekwondo is a full-body sport that trains flexibility, coordination, and balance while building endurance, strength, speed, and sharp reflexes. Performing under pressure — whether in a demonstration or a real competition — teaches students to think on their feet, stay composed, and grow more confident. For children and for women especially, that means having real tools to protect themselves.

Fusing Junior High's Taekwondo Team has trained here for years, consistently placing at county and national competitions — including a 14-year winning streak as County Cup team champions, plus national titles and multiple individual national youth championships.

The program has sent several athletes on to represent Taiwan at the national and youth national team level, earning medals at competitions from Hualien to the county championships.

Behind every medal is hours of disciplined training — students practicing in full sparring gear, resting between rounds, and pushing each other to improve.

Beyond regular practice, the team travels for training camps during winter and summer breaks — sometimes to other schools, sometimes abroad — trading techniques with new training partners before setting off with the school flag held high.

Elementary and junior high students, including those outside the sports program, are welcome to join and learn how to protect themselves. The Fusing Taekwondo Team welcomes you.
