From July 1 to July 17, Fusing ran two back-to-back ten-day camps for incoming seventh graders: an English immersion camp and a Maker Tech camp. Every day brought a foreign teacher, a fresh lesson, and hands-on games — building teamwork, creativity, and confidence one activity at a time.
Our teaching team came from as far as Peru, the US, and Canada, with backgrounds ranging from pastor to musician, dentist to nurse to police officer. Students formed teams with names like the Blue Elephants and lived by simple classroom rules: be respectful, participate, have fun.
Classroom time mixed games with culture lessons — from card games with a foreign teacher to a crash course on only-in-America snacks like Dr Pepper.
In the summer water-fight challenge, students raced to fill buckets with sponges; in the balloon pool game, teams cooled off together under the trees.
Hands-on learning even reached the kitchen, where teams cooked their own stew together — chopping, stirring, and tasting as a team.
A typhoon even threatened to cancel classes mid-camp — and students asked not to have the day off, because they didn't want to miss out. In the Maker Tech camp, students tackled a classic engineering challenge: building the tallest tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows.
Outdoor games and hands-on crafts rounded out the days, combining Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math into activities students could call their own.
Parents said they'd never seen their kids so eager to go to school. Fusing is grateful to every foreign teacher who volunteered their summer to make these two weeks unforgettable.
1150701 至 1150717 期間，福興國中為即將升上七年級的新生規劃了各為期十天的英語營隊與創客科技營隊。每天都有外師帶來的有趣課程與互動遊戲，讓孩子在活動中學習團隊合作、激發創意、互相鼓勵。
外師團隊來自秘魯、美國、加拿大等地，職業橫跨牧師、音樂家、牙醫師、護理師、警察等各行各業。同學組成像「藍色大象隊」這樣的隊伍，並遵守簡單的班規：尊重他人、積極參與、玩得開心。
課堂時間結合遊戲與文化課程——從外師帶領的紙牌遊戲，到只有美國才有的零食速成班，像是 Dr Pepper 汽水。
夏日水戰中，學生要學習用海綿分工合作快速注滿水桶；水球池遊戲則讓大家在樹蔭下一起消暑。
動手做的學習甚至延伸到廚房，小組一起烹煮燉湯——切菜、拌炒、試味道，全都團隊合作完成。
課程期間適逢颱風來襲，同學們紛紛許願不要放颱風假，因為捨不得錯過營隊的精彩內容。創客科技營隊中，學生挑戰經典工程任務：用義大利麵和棉花糖蓋出最高的塔。
戶外遊戲與手作活動貫穿每一天，結合科學、技術、工程、藝術與數學的跨學科教育，讓每個孩子都完成專屬於自己的創作。
連家長都直呼沒看過孩子這麼想上學。福興國中由衷感謝每一位犧牲暑假前來擔任志工的外師，讓這兩週成為難忘的回憶。
