Where the phoenix soars above Pushin's golden mango fields 在埔心金蜜芒果田間，鳳凰展翅高飛
Before 1950, children from the villages of Erchong, Pixia, Pijiao, and Wufeng had to walk forty to fifty minutes through muddy lanes to reach the nearest school. Local community elders — among them Huang San-jing and Huang Wen-cha — donated land and raised funds to change that. By September 1950, the first branch classes opened; in 1957, Fengshya Elementary School was born.
The name Fengshya (鳳霞) carries the stories of two villages: 鳳 from Wufeng, 霞 from Pixia. Sixty-nine years later, the school remains the heart of this community — small in size, deep in roots.
民國 39 年以前，二重、埤霞、埤腳、梧鳳四村的孩子，必須徒步走四、五十分鐘的泥濘村路，才能到達最近的學校。在地士紳黃三井、黃文察等人熱心捐地出資，1950 年 9 月先設梧鳳分班，1957 年 2 月鳳霞國民學校正式獨立建校。
「鳳霞」二字，取自梧鳳的「鳳」與埤霞的「霞」。六十九年後，這所學校依然是埔心社區的心臟。
Pushin Township is home to the Jinmi golden mango — one of Taiwan's most prized varieties. Our school orchard grows native mangoes, and from Grade 1 to Grade 6 every student follows a spiral curriculum that traces the life of a mango from blossom to bite, weaving agri-culture, ecology, and local pride into every lesson.
埔心鄉的金蜜芒果是台灣最珍貴的品種之一。鳳霞國小校園內種有土芒果，全校一至六年級學生跟著螺旋式課程，從芒果開花到品嚐果肉，把農業、生態與在地情懷融入每一堂課。
Lower-grade students discover the art hidden inside seeds, pods, and leaves — creating nature-inspired artworks from materials gathered right outside the classroom door. Upper graders take it further: into the kitchen, where local guava, school-garden vegetables, and creativity come together in an original recipe, Guava Fresh Veggie Burger.
低年級學生用種子、果莢、葉片創作大自然藝術；高年級學生走進廚房，用埔心芭樂與菜園蔬菜做出獨創料理「芭樂鮮蔬堡」。從藝術到廚藝，大自然是我們最好的課本。
On school anniversary day, older students don numbered bibs and reach back for a smaller hand — leading their juniors through eight relay stations covering reading, English, health, and environmental care. No trophies, no rankings. Just one big family learning to look after each other.
校慶當天，高年級學生穿上號碼背心，伸出大手牽起小手，帶領低年級弟弟妹妹闖過閱讀、英語、健康、環境教育等八個關卡。沒有名次，只有互助——這就是鳳霞大家庭。
