Grandpa Mike — Michael Dishnow (1943–2025) — was a retired American educator who fell in love with Taiwan and its children. Year after year, he flew across the Pacific at his own expense, partnering with My Culture Connect (人師教育協會) and the Changhua English Resource Center to bring English to schools all across our county. 麥克爺爺，本名 Michael Dishnow（1943–2025），是一位退休的美國教育工作者，深深愛上了臺灣與這裡的孩子。年復一年，他自費飛越太平洋，與人師教育協會及彰化縣英語教育資源中心攜手，把英語帶進彰化各地的校園。

In 2019 he set out to visit the whole county, one school at a time — and in November that journey brought him to Dongfang. He greeted our students with a warm smile, taught them simple English words and songs, and showed them that learning a new language can be joyful and full of laughter. 2019 年，他立志要走遍全縣，一所一所地拜訪，這趟旅程在十一月來到了東芳。他用溫暖的笑容迎接孩子們，教他們簡單的英語單字與歌曲，讓孩子明白：學一種新的語言，可以充滿快樂與笑聲。

What he gave our children was bigger than vocabulary. He gave them courage to open their mouths and try, a glimpse of a wider world, and the memory of a grandfather from far away who believed in every one of them. 他給孩子的，遠不只是單字。他給了孩子開口嘗試的勇氣、看見更寬廣世界的機會，以及一位遠道而來、相信著每一個孩子的爺爺，留下的美好回憶。
