One village, one school, one temple — growing up together in Jhucijhen 一村、一校、一廟——竹子村裡一起長大的地方
Desing Elementary has stood in the Hakka village of Jhucijhen for more than 60 years, watching generation after generation of children grow up here. Surrounded by the townships of Yongjing, Sihu, Puxin, and Tianwei, Jhucijhen is like a cozy secret garden — and its people are famous for how much they care about education.
When the school turned 60, villagers raised NT$1.3 million to support it. In the village stands Linji Temple, home for centuries — so locals say "one village, one school, one temple," all one family.
德興國小座落在客家庄竹子村已超過一甲子，看著一代又一代的孩子在這裡長大。竹子村被永靖、溪湖、埔心、田尾四個鄉鎮圍繞，就像一座溫馨的秘密花園，村民們也以重視教育聞名。
學校六十週年校慶時，村民甚至募款一百三十萬元支持學校。村裡的霖濟宮已有悠久歷史，因此當地人常說：「一村、一校、一廟」，就像一家人。

Our recorder club has been playing for more than 20 years, and its young musicians have won award after award in music competitions. They practice hard, and it shows — the music they make is beautiful.
德興的直笛社已成立二十多年，學生們才華洋溢，在音樂比賽中屢屢獲獎。他們努力練習，演奏出的音樂十分美妙。
We have our own greenhouse farm at school. Depending on the season, children plant vegetables, fruits, and fragrant herbs and flowers — watching things grow, and learning where their food really comes from.
我們學校有自己的溫室農場，孩子們依季節種植蔬菜、水果與香草花卉，在照顧作物的過程中，學會食物真正的來源。
Visiting teachers and young volunteers from other countries help our students practice speaking English, connecting Desing's children with friends around the world. Tablets and technology turn everyday lessons into a superpower for learning.
來自其他國家的老師與年輕志工巡迴到校，幫助學生練習說英語，讓德興的孩子與世界各地的朋友交流。平板電腦與科技，也讓日常學習變成一種超能力。
"Let every child shine in their own way, and let every talent come to light." Principal Lin Hui-ju leads Desing Elementary with this philosophy, drawing on years of experience as a curriculum supervisor at the Changhua County Education Department and as a teacher and director at schools across Changhua and Taoyuan.
