A foreign teacher who's part of the family · A class that writes to Thailand · And a county-wide library of classroom English that any teacher can borrow.
Ms. Mae has been Cundong's Foreign English Teacher since the 113 school year (2024–25). She came to Taiwan from the Philippines through My Culture Connect, and she now leads the school's entire English program: weekly classes for every grade, public demo lessons, reading circles, and Cundong's annual English singing competition.
The school's English program is literally named after her — A-mae-zing English. It's a pun, and it's also a promise: lessons here are made to be amazing, not endured. Her teaching philosophy says it best: "Learning by doing, and having fun."
Mae 老師自 113 學年度（2024-25）來到村東，是經人師教育協會（MCC）媒合的菲律賓籍駐校外師。她主導全校英語課程：各年級英語課、公開課示範、讀書會、年度英語歌唱比賽。
村東的英語平台「A-mae-zing English」名稱來自 Mae 老師的諧音——既是 wordplay，也是承諾：每一堂英語課都該是 amazing 的。她的教學理念是 "Learning by doing, and having fun"，邊做邊學、樂中學。
Mae's own teaching site is the single source for Cundong's English curriculum. She publishes lesson archives by school year (113 and 114), a Gallery of student work and teaching materials, and a dedicated unit on this year's Thailand cultural exchange.
Cundong Elementary's Culture Exchange Program is a sustained collaboration with Matheyum Watmai Krongtong School in Thailand. We want to build a fun, supportive, engaging environment where students can form international friendships, sharpen their English communication, and learn about each other's cultures.
Through this partnership, our students get to interact with peers from another country, share their experiences, and grow confidence in using English in real-life conversation. The hope: curiosity, open-mindedness, and an appreciation for cultural diversity — alongside memorable experiences for both schools' students and teachers.
Sessions run over Google Meet and Zoom, 30–40 minutes long, with flexible scheduling that works for both schools.
村東國小與泰國 Matheyum Watmai Krongtong School 的文化交流是一個有意義的合作計畫，旨在透過有趣、互相支持、富互動的學習環境，幫助孩子建立國際友誼、提升英語溝通能力，並認識彼此的文化。
交流活動透過 Google Meet 與 Zoom 進行，每次 30–40 分鐘，依雙方時間彈性安排。
Students introduce themselves on Padlet — name, grade, hobbies, plus a photo or drawing. A low-pressure way to meet before going live, while practising simple creative English writing.
學生用 Padlet 介紹姓名、年級、興趣，搭配照片或畫作。在正式線上見面前先「文字破冰」，同時練習簡單的英文寫作。
Students make short videos introducing famous places and local festivals in Taiwan and Thailand. By sharing, they explore each other's traditions, culture, and daily life — and practise listening and presentation.
學生拍攝短影片介紹台灣與泰國的著名景點與在地節慶，互相分享傳統與日常，同時練習聆聽與口語簡報。
A live meeting where students talk about their favourite local foods — describing taste, ingredients, and what makes the food special to them. Real-time communication, real cultural sharing.
線上見面會中，學生介紹自己最愛的家鄉食物——味道、食材、以及為什麼這道食物對他們特別。真實對話、真實文化分享。
