Mindset: Your job is to get the student talking, not to talk yourself. Aim for the student speaking about 70% of the time. Smile, wait, and let small silences happen — they are thinking, not failing. 心法:你的任務是讓學生開口,而不是自己一直說。目標是學生說大約七成的話。微笑、等待,讓一點點沉默發生——他們是在思考,不是表現不好。

Tip: Don't drill all twelve words. Pick the ones your student stumbles on and practice those. Quality of practice beats covering every item. 小提醒:別把十二個字全部反覆操練。挑學生卡住的那幾個來練。練得精,比每個都帶過更有效。

6 · Activity — plan a dream trip 10 min

Plan an imaginary trip together. The student is the travel guide and you are the curious traveler — then swap. Build it step by step. 一起規劃一趟想像中的旅行。學生當導遊,你當好奇的旅人——然後交換。一步一步把它建起來。

  1. Choose a destination together. Ask: "Where should we go?"一起選一個目的地。問:「我們該去哪裡?」
  2. Decide how long the trip will be and how you will get there.決定這趟旅行多久,以及你們要怎麼去。
  3. Pick three things to do at the destination.選三件到了目的地要做的事。
  4. Choose one food the student must try there.選一樣學生在那裡一定要試的食物。
  5. Name one souvenir to bring home.說出一樣要帶回家的紀念品。
  6. Have the student describe the whole plan back to you in full sentences.請學生用完整的句子,把整個計畫描述給你聽一遍。

Tip: Push for full sentences, not single words. If the student says "Paris," smile and ask, "Great — say it in a full sentence for me." 小提醒:要求完整句子,不要只說單字。學生只說「巴黎」時,微笑著問:「很好——用一個完整的句子說給我聽。」

7 · Wrap-up 5 min

Close the lesson warmly and leave the student feeling successful. 溫暖地收尾,讓學生帶著「我做得很好」的感覺離開。

  • Ask the student to tell you two new words or phrases they learned today.請學生說出今天學到的兩個新單字或句子。
  • Have them say one full sentence about a place they'd love to visit.請他用一個完整的句子,說一個他好想去的地方。
  • Gently review one or two mistakes you noted — say the correct version and have them repeat it.溫和地複習你記下的一兩個錯誤——說出正確的版本,請他跟著念一遍。
  • Give one specific compliment ("Your story about Taitung was really clear!").給一個具體的稱讚(「你講台東的故事真的好清楚!」)。

Tip: End on a high note. The last thing the student hears should be praise, not a correction. They should log off smiling and wanting to come back. 小提醒:在高點結束。學生最後聽到的應該是讚美,而不是糾正。他應該帶著微笑下線,並且想再回來。

  • Speak slowly and use short sentences. Repeat key words often.放慢速度、用短句。常常重複關鍵單字。

Most important: Connection comes before correction. A student who feels relaxed and heard will speak ten times more than one who feels tested.
