Books for Taiwan

The "Books for Taiwan" project was initiated in April 2012 by Amy Lin. It draws on the efforts of American volunteers — about 99% young professionals or students — to contribute love and care to Taiwan. The project collects English-language books, mostly from American libraries: children's books, young-adult titles, hardcover books for adults, cookbooks, and CDs/DVDs.

「送書到台灣」專案在 2012 年 4 月由 Amy Lin 女士發起,整合美國志工的力量,為台灣貢獻愛心——志工成員 99% 是年輕專業人士或學生。專門收集英文書籍,99% 來自美國圖書館,不論新舊,有童書、青少年讀物、綜合精裝大人書、食譜和 CD/DVD。

The collected books are donated to schools, libraries, and prisons in Taiwan — hoping to help students at least see English, and move from fear to curiosity and love of it; and to encourage future chefs in cooking schools to make authentic Western dishes. The project aims to convey warmth and optimism, so recipients feel the love and concern from afar.

收集來的英文書籍捐給台灣的學校、圖書館、監獄,希望幫助學生至少看到英文,由害怕抗拒轉為好奇喜歡熱愛;也送給烹飪學校,勉勵未來的廚師做出道地的西式料理。傳遞溫暖與樂觀的力量給受贈者,讓台灣人感受到來自遠方的愛與關懷。
