Looking After
Yourself

Four packs of this library are about doing the job well. This one is about still being able to do it in June. Teaching several periods a day in your second language, standing up, projecting, to children who are also working in a second language, is physically demanding work — and almost nobody tells a new foreign teacher that, or what to do about it.

This is not medical advice

These chapters describe things you can try for yourself, and they say plainly where the evidence is strong and where it is thin. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment, or a substitute for seeing a doctor. If you have a symptom that persists — you stop breathing at night, your voice keeps going, you cannot sleep, you feel anxious most days — that is a reason to see a doctor, not a reason to try harder at a breathing exercise.
